What happened in Turkish football today? 12/11/2017
Turkey needs to improve its performance against Albania to show some hope for its future.
Turkish National Team will continue its period of adaptation for players to the relevantly new head coach Mircea Lucescu and also working with youth players with game against Albania tomorrow where it would be aiming to improve performance shown against Romania.
It could be seen that Albania is easier opponent compare to Romania and with also taking account its friendly game, Turkey might have slight advantage but Albania during recent period are among nations which has shown an improvement with its performance including pretty respectful performance at the Euro 2016. The signs of poor form and also having negative impact of not getting to the World Cup 2018 has been seen clearly from game against Romania and there are questions if it would be still be mentally affected from that also at game against Albania, and if that is case Albania would come out in better form as their didnt have as much pressure for qualification to Russia. Turkey here is more importantly to show their best performance and provide some hope for future both to Mircea Lucescu and Turkish fans.
Turkey needs to go through this friendly game prior to Euro 2020 qualifiers in very effective manner if it wants to have successful League of Nations and Euro qualifiers.
Galatasaray games against Basaksehirspor and Besiktas are very important to set their aim for next season.
With today being Sunday, today has been recently quiet day at the news front including from transfer rumours so lets discuss about if Galatasaray would be able to complete as league leaders for rest of the 6 weeks until midseason break.
Among those 6 games, Galatasaray would have pretty tough games back to back against Basaksehirspor and Besiktas which would show if it would be able to enter to 2018 as league leaders, with point situation to some extend Basaksehirspor being even more important as there are 3 points behind them. Until now, Galatasaray head coach Igor Tudor didnt manage to win teams which would been qualified as big, with Basaksehirspor being included to the list for recent performance. Therefore, those two games are very important for them and would be aiming to get as much as possible as can with ending this unlucky results with big teams and make sure to secure as league leaders almost for mid-season break and getting closer to its aim for league title. It is known that players are mindfully set for this aim and would be aiming to make this possible.
Galatasaray next 2 games are one of the most important games for 1st half for sure and could be even case for whole season.
Ankara sides are showing very dissapointing results at the Super League.
Looking from top of the league, lets go to the bottom where we see only two Ankara sides Osmanlispor and Genclerbirligi to be taking last 2 spots with both sharing 8 points with both clubs being a surprise at having such a trouble.
It needs to be noted that Osmanlispor is even more surprise as their had shown a very good performance in recent years and has high quality players and were expected to show top class performance but so far are failing to do so. Stating that compare to Genclerbirligi their do have bigger potential to turn things around and get good results and save them from dropzone as usually even short period good results could be enough to save them. Meanwhile, even through Genclerbirligi situation are not great by looking at the squad it is still surprising performance by them taking account that season is called after Ilhan Cavcav, deceased legendary club CEO who has passed away last season and hence it was expected that the naming of season after Cavcav would provide big motivational boost but so far it wasnt present at the team.
Ankara sides are so far are showing poor performance at the league and there is big risk that next season would be played without capital club at the Super League as both sides needs to gain at least 26 points to make it sure their stay at league.
