What happened in Turkish football today? 05.12
Besiktas is keep losing tempo and it is becoming worser.
During today crucial game between Besiktas and Kayserispor at the Super League has ended with 2:1 victory for Istanbul side. Despite of win, Besiktas once again has shown that it has lost its attacking gameplay which was visible for the club at the beginning of the season. Besiktas is undoubtedly does not provide positive view prior to very important game against Sporting at Europa League this Thursday.
Besiktas was lucky that it was playing against Kayserispor who as team is not capable enough to provide game which could worry any of the big 4 teams therefore in point wise it was important win but its not opponent which could provide any idea how strong is Besiktas. However, club is losing its tempo for around one month and to some teams at the league during this period were capable of playing at the same tempo as Besiktas.
Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes prior to game against Sporting Lisbon game at the Europa League needs to solve problem or crises at attacking section as this slow game will not be helpful on Thursday. Sporting undoubetedly will provide attacking football at the Lisbon and hence might beat Besiktas with the weapon which it has used itself against opponents in start of season.
Regarding of Kayserispor, the club has played positive football with trying to create positions and self-belief that it could bring surprise, which is understandable as club was aware that it might play against Besiktas at the best time during this season period.
Galatasaray as team has regained self-belief and motivation
Newly appointed Galatasaray head coach Mustafa Denizli has won his first game with his club in the game against Bursaspor following first time training with team for one whole week. In performance wise, Galatasaray was still not at its best however it has gained two very important factor at the team: motivation and self-belief. Scoring three goals against strong opponent, despite of poor season, at the game which you dont play greatly needs lots of character.
Undoubtedly, this win is will bring huge motivation to the team prior to game against Astana at Champions League which will decide will club will carry on at Europa League next year or not. Another aspect at the game was protest given by Galatasaray fans towards its player Sabri Sarioglu, however with this protest it seems that it raise motivation to player which led him to provide one of his best games in this season.
After Astana game, Galatasaray will play against Besiktas which undoubtedly will provide some signs if Galatasaray will stay at the title race after winter break. The factors of regaining motivation and self-belief is huge factor for players, now its time for Mustafa Denizli to improve gameplay at the team.
Gaziantepspor will have hard time against Fenerbahce tomorrow.
It could be comfortably said that right now at the league the club with the best form is Fenerbahce and that is not only case for its leadership position at the Super League table. Fenerbahce didnt lose for about one month and hardly concedes goals. The most important factor also that players, head coach Vitor Pereira and media are aware that this team is not playing its best game but its going in that direction which will be crucial at the end of season if achieved.
At tomorrow game, the opponent for Fenerbahce will be Gaziantepspor which always performs good football against big 4 teams but the way Fenerbahce defends lately it could be even more tough game for Gaziantepspor than usual. Another advantage for Fenerbahce is that Vitor Pereira is starting to realise how is Turkish Super League and what needs to be done to win the games at the Turkish league. He became aware that players play rough game and mediocre teams close in defense.
Apart of regaining leadership from Besiktas after victory against Gaziantepspor tomorrow this game is also importat prior to home game against Celtic at motivational mood on Thursday night. It is important note taking account that Fenerbahce one of the main aim sfor this season is to win European Cup.
