What happened in Turkish football today? 09.12

Galatasaray performance against Astana doesnt satisfy anyone

Despite of getting Europa League spot from yesterday game against Astana during last game of group stage at the Champions League, Galatasaray once again has shown to its supporters and the media outlets that club is not at the great condition and is lacking team play. Performance of the club at the yesterday game probably didnt leave anyone satisfied including players and its head coach Mustafa Denizli.

Everyone who was following yesterday game was expecting a comfortable win, which in return would mean that club will be at 1st pot during Europa League hence club will play against weaker opponents. As been expected at the  post-match analysis, especially by foreign players has shown that their unhappy with team performance. Both Lukas Podolski and Wesley Snejder has stated that club needs to improve drastically after game.

However, most unexpected review of the game has come from head coach of the team Mustafa Denizli who have stated that it was most hard game he had at his coaching career. Reasoning which he gave was due of pressure which club is at within and not due of its opponents. Right now as been mentioned at yesterday blog, Galatasaray will play very crucial  derby game against Besiktas and with yesterday performance Besiktas looks to be favourite to get a win on Monday.

Besiktas needs to play its best football both in defence and attack against Sporting

Prior to the crucial Super League game against its historical rival Galatasaray, Besiktas will play even more important game against Sporting Lisbon as it would mean if club will continue its European journey in next year. Besiktas is expected to provide its best game if it wants to go through Sporting as it needs only to win and it is capable to do so.

While playing an attacking football, Besiktas should also focus at the defence during the game as without doubt its Portuguese opponents will try to score to the  Besiktas in understandable manner. Only advantage for Besiktas at the tomorrow game is that Besiktas needs a draw but playing away does not make it a such a big advantage.

Performance by players such as Sosa and Mario Gomez among Ricardo Queresma would be crucial as those players will be able to bring deciding moves which could bring desired results even through role of Turkish players should not be underestimated.

Fenerbahce should get results which it seeks at game against Celtic.

Fenerbahce task compare to Besiktas is much easier as it would play against Celtic at home who has no chance to qualify to 2nd round of Europa League. It is expected with organised football brought by Vitor Pereira to a team and good support by its fans, club should bring at least draw which would quarantee them next stage at tournament.

Despite of 2:2 draw against Gaziantepspor during last weekend at the Super League, it could be stated that Fenerbahce is still going into rise including factor of how it has performed with 10 men with such condition at the field. Vitor Pereira has finally brought system to its players which he wanted from his players during games and players start to responding to it. It will be expected for

Fenerbahce to mainly focus but also providing very successful attacks with goal opportunities.
As been mentioned before, Fenerbahce has improved drastically since start of the season and latest good performance by a team should be biggest advantage of the club in a game against team where it needs points with team which arleady eliminated from tournament.
