What happened in Turkish football today? 30.11
Fenerbahce has won with its classic game style.
As was expected Fenerbahce was coming out as favourites against struggling, both internally and externally, Trabzonspor and taking account that club win will make them league leaders has provided extra motivation to Fenerbahce.
Fenerbahce in fact has provided similar game play which it was playing during games against Mersin Idman Yurdu and Molde, and hence becoming more clear what kind of gameplay is club head coach Vitor Pereira is awaiting from its players. In fact as usual, club has shown poor performance at the last 30 minutes of game, and only Trabzonspor being 10 men made things calmer. Even through it is questionable how effective Trabzonspor would be even with 11-on-11.
One of the most talked points is arguments between Salih Dursun and incident involving Fernandao and Lazar Markovic. The arguments between those players had become so heated it involved other players including Trabzonspor head coach Sadi Tekiloglu and Fenerbahce. This arguments, which was used more agressively by Trabzonspor, could happen due of problems which club in and plus playing with its main rivals has heated the club even more.
Overall, Fenerbahce has set its game play which became clear but still seems to be workable and
brought leadership at the Super League. And as usual Trabzonspor needs calmness at its team and administration.
Galatasaray will improve in mid-season but it could be already too late.
Galatasaray was planning to have start of new beginning with its head coach Mustafa Denizli with a win against Kasimpasa, but with its gameplay of past two games did not change yesterday it had ended game with 2:2 scoreline.
In similar manner it should be reminded that if there was uncounted goal by Kasimpasa player Ryan Donk, Galatasaray would even lose so it should seen itself lucky. However, for big team like Galatasaray the loss or draw is not big difference, as it always aims to win games. Galatasaray defence in last two games was providing poor performance which could be present at yesterday game.
Newly appointed head coach Mustafa Denizli has stated that all of the big issues solutions will be done and found after winter break with tactics changes and transfers. Denizli announcement is realistic, but with l 4 games left until break, including crucial game against Besiktas, Galatasaray cant afford losing points or it will see itself outside of title race as early as January. Once again it proves mistake of administraton to send Hamza Hamzaoglu in this period.
Besiktas is losing its tempo.
As this season of Super League and for about 10 weeks Besiktas was proclaimed as most active, in fact most attacking team at the league which this play could easily become champions in May. However, this characteristics Besiktas starts to lose in last 3 games.
In yesterday blog it was mentioned that tactics for Akhisar was to score and defend against attacking team, however there were positions which Besiktas did find good attacks but could not convert it. Besiktas is losing its pace at the games which are crucial. Leading as leaders before mid-season break is very important but it has risk of not achieving that.
Playing constantly as fast pace could be very tiring and naturally might reduce risk of waring down as league progresses, that is what seems to take place with Besiktas. Now club needs to use its speed advantage economically if it wants to get league title this season.
