What happened in Turkish football today? 08/11/2023

Galatasaray once again lost to Bayern Munich due of getting tired towards end of game

Galatasaray has lost Champions League game to Bayern Munich with 2:1 scoreline in pretty similar manner as it did on previous game in Istanbul as it did provide performance in same level against German giants but couldnt provide ending to the game.

Following those 2 weeks game against Bayern Munich and despite of the loss it could be noted that positive manner of the this result could be given that team at least for around 70 minutes can provide similar level performance as does opponent however compare to Bayern Munich it does have an issue of continuing for last minutes which could be related to stamina of the team. It needs to be mentioned that Bayern Munich did have start of the game in pretty fast tempo and to some extend has been side which did control game and has shown confident strong performance but around 10th minute did get into  game and has managed to balance game as both sides had similar amount of chances in both goals with being same quality. It needs to be stated that Fernando Muslera did make some important saves which kept side at the game in this moment while Icardi did have some good chances but did lack chances or couldnt overpass Mauro Neuer. As been noted, Galatasaray as it did in previous game, didnt manage to provide to continue showing same ending to the game and this last 20 minutes as Harry Kane did show that Galatasaray does look stamina which is needed at this tournament.

Bayern Munich for most amount of time did play in similar level as did Galatasaray and it is been game at between but there was always feeling that side could be able to get upper hand in all fairness and with rising tempo and strong attacking game of Harry Kane it did get win which guareenteed side to get to knockout stages at the top spot.

Galatasaray in similar manner did provide same level performance as did Bayern Munich but stamina factor did cost side to get at least draw which in fact would be seen as extra point for knockout stages.

Besiktas needs to get win against Bodo/Glimt

Besiktas would be coming out to possibly most important game it would be having during whole season as it would be needed to win against Bodo/Glimt at home ground and provided strong fighting spirit.

It needs to be stated that in  normal circumstances, Besiktas would been expected to be strong favourite against Norwegian side but when looking into condition which team is going through, it could be stated that team are going through incredible difficult season which does affect its performance. Despite of that, Besiktas supporters are known in Turkey to be most loyal and hence are expected to be filling its stadiums for such crucial game. Hence, team would not play at empty stadium however there is chance that supporters would be showing towards team prior to game and/or when things might not go well in the field and this would have some negative impact of the team. Bodo/Glimt did get an important win against their opponents on previous game and does have good chance to get to next round and hence it would be playing according to that.

Besiktas are sadly are coming as underdog but with right attitude from supporters it can get result which it seeks for but it would be difficult especially mentally to team.

Fenerbahce are favourites but Ludogorets would provide some issues to them

Compare to Fenerbahce, Besiktas are not in such crucial situation as Besiktas when looking into table and could be stated that it would be getting to play-off without much issues but despite that it would be coming with bit pressure due of loss to Trabzonspor.

Without doubt, all teams would eventually lose and Fenerbahce did experience that against Trabzonspor in pretty dramatic manner on their view and hence it would be important for side which does aim for title to get strong bounce back on upcoming game. Hence, game against Ludogorets is good opportunity for them. As been noted, in previous game Fenerbahce are being clear favourite in this game but it would be playing against strongest opponent in the group which does aim to get to knockout stages and even draw would be seen by them as extra point. Hence, playing in Bulgaria and possibly getting some support, Fenerbahce needs to be aware that it could have some issues as opponent also would possibly provide pressure in attack due of defensive issue.

Fenerbahce are favourites but as previous game showed Ludogorets would not let them to have an easy evening.
