What happened in Turkish football today? 14/11/2023

TFF are rumoured to appoint Burak Yilmaz as national team assistant coach.

One of the most unexpected rumours which are going through today's Turkish football media is that TFF has offered asisstant coach role to Burak Yilmaz after short period after he has terminated contract with club.

Due of poor performance at Besiktas which to some extend did come from Besiktas administration providing too much pressure towards him, this decision could be seen as surprising and also too risky but in other hands he could get some experience as assistant coach at this high level with great coach who has set foot on this country Vincenzo Montella. Burak Yilmaz, as every new coach does have potentiality to become good coach but possibly he should not be getting such important posts on such important stages as it would provide pressure towards him and hence have some harm towards himself.

It is rumoured that he would be appointed after national team games and not being official yet and we would follow all the developments on this matter.

Besiktas will have an important CEO election later this month.

Besiktas are currently are getting prepared for CEO election which would be taking place in the end of the month with 2 candidates Serdar Adali and Hasan Arat as this election has been one of most important in recent history of club.

Current CEO Ahmet Nur Cebi and his administrative team are getting too much criticism from members of the club and especially supporters due of poor results during this season and also from not very effective summer transfer window. It needs to be stated that club is not being run very effectively right now and change of blood is quite natural. Serdar Adali is being who has been at administrative side of the team while Hasan Arat has been running as CEO candidate for some time and does provide some interesting suggestion on how to move team ahead.

It does look to be pretty exciting election period at the club as we would look at all developments.

Trabzonspor are interested with Thiago Alcantara

One of the eye-catching transfer rumours has been talks of possible transfer of Liverpool player Thiago Alcantara to Trabzonspor as club are reported to be showing an interest towards him.

With Abdullah Avci mainly focussing into defensive game, it could be natural for team to be looking with good experienced player at the side and with Liverpool reported to be considering to sell him soon, Trabzonspor has shown good interest towards him and due of age could be getting with reasonable good price without affecting too much into transfer fee. It is unclear if there would be lots of interests towards him during transfer window as there is still Saudi factor but Trabzonspor could aim to start talks with him in few days and also club.

Trabzonspor does consider to strength its defence and Alcantara could be good option for sure
