What happened in Turkish football today? 06/11/2023

Besiktas doesnt expect to improve with performance until at least CEO election.

Besiktas continues showing ineffective performance at the league especially during away games as it lost this time to Antalyaspor with 3:2 scoreline as it has conceded all 3 goals within 12 minutes in the start of the 2nd half.

Besiktas it needs to be mentioned did fail to provide high tempo during 90 minutes which does include 1st half where it did get ahead on last minute which seems to be an issue for the team in recent periods. Even through it did win 2 games with Burak Yilmaz, it does need to be mentioned that those wins did come due of factor that opponent is due of all respect is not being in good form and also not being in same quality and even including this games Besiktas didnt control game necessarily and didnt show very good game. It needs to be mentioned as it did in previous blog entries that this poor results does come due of bad administrative role which is more or less not existent and throwing all weight towards Burak Yilmaz which without doubt does some issues to the team.

Therefore, Besiktas are showing poor and ineffective performance in this period and it seems like it would until CEO election in end of the month.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce want to play Turkish Super Cup in Turkey.

Galatasaray has followed suit of Fenerbahce that it doesnt consider to play Turkish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia and would send strong request to place to be played in Turkey instead due of country celebrating 100th anniversary of Republic.

There was lots of criticism towards TFF for making deal with Saudi Arabia to host Turkish Super Cup as there is statements that this being wrong decision when country is celebrating its 100th anniversary and hence should be either be played in Istanbul or Samsun instead. TFF as it is known did make decision and deal purely for financial reasons but as been noted timing of this decision could not be any wrong as this year is being very important and it could been waited for another year. Now TFF did find into difficult situation itself as it has lots of pressure from both sides which would be playing  this Turkish Super Cup and deal on hand with Saudi Arabia.

It does look like this matter could be among most discussed until end of the year and we would follow all developments in such manner.

Burak Yilmaz would stay as coach until CEO election

Besiktas administration has decided to keep its caretaker coach Burak Yilmaz until CEO election following Yilmaz stating yesterday that he would have talks with administration on this matter.

Burak Yilmaz following Antalyaspor game has stated that due of not being able to make some clear decisions regarding squads as he does consider to not play some of the players which did rise following Eric Bailly, that he would need to discuss with administration if they want to keep him as coach or not until December. He did state that he would respect all decisions which  would be made, but if administration decided to keep him he would ask all control of the team and decision how to decide on squads. With getting approval to stay, he would be accepted to make some changes iwth squad as he wishes to.

Hence, we could see some players being taken out of squad in upcoming days as he did green light to do so from administration.
