Trabzonspor started season with 2 corner goals against Istanbulspor.
Title holders are starting 2022-23 Super League season with a win against new-comers Istanbulspor with 2:0 as side has won with both goals coming from corner kicks and headers from Cornelius and Denswill.
Trabzonspor with getting confident win last week at Super Cup against Sivasspor and also having better squad compare to Istanbulspor has been expected to get a confident win and to some extend the game has been developed in such manner during 1st half as it has full control and found an early goal. But it needs to be mentioned that it did reduce some tempo during 2nd half, which led for Istanbulspor to provide much more attacking game and has looked for some opportunities which does raise some questions regarding of Trabzonspor defence with only defence for them being that its been early on season. Even through Trabzonspor did win game without conceding, it could have ended game in 1st half. Another question, that both goals did come from corners while Trabzonspor did provide much pressure to goal towards Istanbulspor goal during game, even through there were some c]ances.
Istanbulspor meanwhile did provide pretty poor game during 1st half without not only creating any opportunities but didnt even get close to Trabzonspor goal but during 2nd half it did improve with looking for some chances and creating but still lacked to score. Still, 2nd half performance of side does provide some hope for upcoming games.
Trabzonspor did get win without conceding goal, start which it would be satisfied without doubt but tempo it has performed does provide some worries.
Fenerbahce showed strong attacking game against Slovacko.
Fenerbahce has got confident result against Slovacko during Europa League 3rd qualifying round 1eg game with 3:0 scoreline and made an important step for play-off round with two great goals from Lincoln Henrique.
Using this game and comparing it to Dinamo Kiev game could be wrong due of level of opposition in those 2 games and also circumstances which game has been played, but it needs to be mentioned that there were some improvements in the team. Most importantly, Fenerbahce did look to be providing much more attacking game and has been looking for goal especially by performance of Lincoln Henrique who did score 2 goals with both of them being high quality and arleady has fulfilled all expectations for the side. Once again using Slovacko, to all respect, as good reference point might be wrong but Fenerbahce did provide view of showing more attacking game.
After unwanted result from Dinamo Kiev, Fenerbahce certainly has regained motivation after this scoreline.
Muhammet Demir could turn crucial for Konyaspor.
Konyaspor didnt get result which has been expected from them prior to Vaduz game at Europa Conference League but Muhammed Demir more or less lucky goal on last minute of the game keeps chances for play-off round pretty hugh.
It needs to be mentioned that Konyaspor during 90 minutes has been better side with creating high number of opportunities and providing strong pressure to Vaduz but they didnt use their opportunities or have been unlucky. Still, this game does show that side needs to improve for upcoming weeks despite of confident results from BATE games as it did look to be pretty passive in some moments of the game. Still, goal from Muhammed Demir which did come more from skill rather then great goal, even through prior to his shot Konyaspor did show great organisation, could be key and play important role for play-off round ticket.
Konyaspor did get good result but it needs to show stronger performance in next week if it wants to get to play-off stage of competition.
