What happened in Turkish football today? 16/08/2022

Bakasetas goal has kept chances of Trabzonspor to group stage alive.

Trabzonspor players Bakasetas great goal on 79th minute has kept his side chances alive for Champions League group stage ticket as it lost to Copenhagen with 2:1 scoreline at away game.

Even through it could be noted that Trabzonspor did get good result for 2-leg fixture, it needs to be mentioned that it took for long time to start playing some quality game with side starting showing its usual aggressive game after it has conceded 2nd goal on 47th minute. In other words, Trabzonspor has hardly provided any performance and pressure both at defence and attack against Copenhagen. This could be mainly due of players and whole club still being in stressful condition due of playing its 1st Champions League after long period of time. Luckily, for them Copenhagen didnt use opportunities which it did get during 1st half and as been noted Trabzonspor start showing much more aggressive attacking game starting from 2nd half when it has conceded 2nd goal after 2 minutes game been restarted. During that time Trabzonspor did show its high performance which led for Bakasetas on 79th minute. That goal might been too late in this tie, but could be crucial goal for side to turn around this tie in 2nd leg next week at Trabzonspor.

Copenhagen has dominated during 1st half of the game with among finding goal in 9th minute thanks to the Claessen goal and could even scored more. Only issue for side is that it couldnt get defensive performance after scoring 2nd goal and did make fixture slightly more difficult for themselves.

Bakasetas goal has managed to keep tie alive as been stated above but without doubt to get that ticket it would need to provide performance which it shown in 2nd half fo 90 minutes during 2nd leg of the tie.

Fenerbahce got confident 6:0 win against Kasimpasa.

Fenerbahce wins Kasimpasa during Super League 2nd week with confident scoreline of 6:0 as opponent didnt provide any pressure and also got an early red card which made task for Fenerbahce much easier.

With Fenerbahce not providing dominating attacking game which has been expected from them in last 2 games and also generally in this season, there was question how it would be responding to this form. And it just did that as it provided an attacking game towards Kasimpasa with creating high number of the opportunities and also red card has been gained in such manner. Stating that, Kasimpasa has failed to provide any response towards opponent with scoring goals and also red card. It would be hence unfair to provide much analysis due of circumstances of the game, but this game have shown that Fenerbahce went more step closer to Jesus attacking style and has provided crucial motivational boost.

Without doubt, Austria Wien after such result would not like to meet with Fenerbahce as they opponents would be accepted to continue such positive attacking game.

Kasimpasa terminates contract with Sami Ugurlu

After losing with humiliating scoreline of 6:0, Kasimpasa head coach Sami Ugurlu did send request for resignation which been approved from side administration team.

Without doubt, Kasimpasa didnt start in a way with anyone hoped them did but this could be seen to some extend as expected as it did lose high number keyplayers with replacements not being much closer into this level. Add that loss to Adana Demirspor with 4:0 and afterwards to Fenerbahce, so conceding 10 goals and not scoring one showed how weak they are being right now. Without, Ugurlu being confident to find solution of this issue, it has been right move from Kasimpasa to accept regisnation.

Hence, this has been resignation as we would see if this season would be also remembered with high number of referee termination as it tends to be in recent year.
