What happened in Turkish football today? 25/11/2021

Galatasaray secured play-off round after beating Olympique Marseille

Galatasaray has quarenteed play-off spot for Europa League as it beat Olympique Marseille with 4:2 scoreline with providing strong attacking game and in one point was leading with 3:0 scoreline.

Galatasaray continues providing strong determined performance at the Europa League focussing into ending group stage at the top spot getting one step closer to that aim with getting win against Olympique Marseille in its home ground providing strong attacking game and without doubt goal from Cicaldau did play important role to get closer to this aim and led for side to get more control of the game and scoring 2 more goals with Feghouli and Caleta-Car own goal.Even through it did concede on 70th minute it did manage to stay focussed with finding 4th goal on 83rd minute. Therefore, Galatasaray did come with focus to win game in strong confident manner and has achieved that at home

Olympique Marseille did struggle to show top game in such important game looking to be pretty passive without being able to show reaction to Galatasaray on 1st half and now would be focussed to get for Conference League.

Galatasaray would now focus into getting top spot as it would play against Lazio at the game where draw would be enough.

Fenerbahce showed decline during 2nd half of performance.

Fenerbahce lost its opportunity to get into 2nd position of the Europa League and hence to get into knockout stages as it conceded goal on 88th minute from Soros.

Fenerbahce did provide some good performance from start of the game and 1st half in overall with getting some opportunities which could easily get needed goal and also red card from opponent did provide with good opportunity to achieve this. With Fenerbahce needing to win this game to have good opportunity for knockout ticket, quite opposite start showing some decline during 2nd half without providing lots of tempo and hence losing or to some extend giving possession and game to the opponent which it used pretty effective manner without doubt and hence did use this opportunity to find winning goal on 88th minute from Soros. This result hence would rise once again question of performance and future of Vitor Pereira.

Olympiakos hence got important win and did secure its 2nd spot for Europa League even through its been not very easy game for them but their kept their concentration high.

With Fenerbahce beating Galatasaray on weekend with good game its been expected that it would transform this game but its been dissapointing end for them.

Besiktas continues poor performance at Champions League

Besiktas has continued its poor run at the Champions League as it lost to Ajax which did come out with 100% winning run to the game while Besiktas lost all of its game.

Stating that Besiktas did provide its best performance in the tournament during 1st half of the game with creating opportunities and providing pressure to opponent, but in same time it did play against opponent which did come in relaxed mode knowing that draw will be enough for them to get to knockout stage. What is more worrying in sense of Besiktas is that did lose focus and concentration once again with conceding goal from Haller which led for Ajax to get control of the game and get win securing its top spot in the group, while Besiktas did have tournament which it needs to forget for sure.

Besiktas would come out out to Borussia Dortmund at last week as game would be formality for both sides and would focus now to improve its position in domestic league.
