What happened in Turkish football today? 15/11/2021

Turkey would need to win Montenegro foremost

Turkey is going to come out into its final World Cup 2022 qualifier with possibility of ending group at the top and getting direct ticket to Qatar or even end up at the 3rd spot but it does look to be most realistic to end at 2nd spot for play-off round.

It was highly expected for Turkey to win against Gibraltar with confident scoreline and this result among outcomes which did come from parallel games in this group without doubt did provide high confidence and motivation to the group but it needs to be mentioned that it would be pretty tough game with Montenegro tend to be providing issues to favourites even if it doesnt quality as it became clear with Holland game on 13th November. Therefore, Turkey at least until getting possibly 2:0 scoreline should focus into this game not thinking much about Norway-Holland game with focussing to get this win especially it should be enough for 2nd spot.

It would be tough game but it would need to come out for win not thinking much about other game as it could be some distractor.

Holland and Norway will be at huge pressure in they game.

Stating that, it could be difficult to focus 100% against Montenegro for Turkey, as outcome of Norway and Holland would have direct impact for its upcoming journey at World Cup.

Even through there is strong expectation for Holland to beat Norway, there have been expectations for Holland and Norway to beat Montenegro and Latvia repsectively so it is still unclear even through there is expectations for Holland not to make mistakes. Turkey however still has advantage of being less pressurised compare to opponents, as it would be playing against opponent which would be coming for formality game while Holland and Norway would come out to game which would decide as draw does provide small advantage to Holland but not Norway.

Therefore, it would be all decided for sure at this crucial 90 minutes without doubt.

Galatasaray has made extension deal with Kerem Akturkoglu for 5.5 years

Galatasaray are reported to make transfer deal with its star player Kerem Akturkoglu until 2026 as clubs around Europe are interested to sign him.

Even through offically extension has not been announced by club, it does look like the deal has been made with its being signing when player would be returned from national team duty. Coming from 2nd division side, he did show incredible improvement in very short period and did become one of the key players both at his side and Turkey scoring frequently great goals, with goal against Gibraltar been even compared to Ibrahimovic. With providing strong salary rise very likely, Akturkoglu has strong opportunity to become one of the potential players of the team.

Fatih Terim certainly did play important role for his rise with performance and hence he would likely to sign extension without thinking much.
