What happened in Turkish football today? 19/07/2021

Galatasaray would meet with winners of Celtic and Midjylland if it gets to next stage of Champions League.

Galatasaray would be playing against winners of Celtic and Midjylland tie during Champions League 3rd qualifying round if it beats PSV Eindhoven which to some extend would be an opponent similar to Dutch side.

It needs to be noted that both Celtic and Midjylland are pretty strong and competitive side which in similar manner does focus to get into tournament proper especially after Danish side did enter to group stage during previous stage. In addition to this, there are not much stronger compare to PSV Eindhoven during current level of performance hence if Galatasaray does get through PSV Eindhoven with also possible confidence it would get, it would be capable to get through their new opponents which ever side it would be. Question is however right now is current squad of Galatasaray would be able to get through PSV Eindhoven in current form, but with taking account Dutch side are not in perfect form themselves it should be able to get needed result it seeks for.

Meanwhile, if Galatasaray would be relegated from Champions League, it would meet with St. Johnstone at Europa League 3rd qualifier option which we hope would not be considered.

Trabzonspor would be coming as favourites either against Molde or Servette.

Trabzonspor would be meeting with Molde and Servette tie winners at Conference League 3rd qualifying round as it would be starting its European journey and also start of new season.

Trabzonspor with transfers which it made so far did make it clear that side is being focussed into high spots at Conference League and also domestic league, and even through this opponents are not best case scenario in such early stage as both sides does have some experience at Europe, it is still opponents which Trabzonspor should be able to beat if their show strong confident performance. Molde in recent season has been regular side at Europa League showing some good games at group stages and would be expected side which would go through but again if Trabzonspor does it homework in good manner it would be able to get to next stage.

Trabzonspor did get sides which does have European experience but it has better quality to get to next stage.

Sivasspor are getting good qualifying draws

Sivasspor which would be coming out Conference League 2nd qualifying round as favourite against Petrocub, would meet with another ex-USSR nation as it drawn with winners against Dinamo Batumi and BATE Borisov.

BATE Borisov, which would be likely opponent in next stage, did make its name in 2000s which surprising results at Champions League but it needs to be noted that side is pretty far from that level of performance and not being much more confident level of game which does put Sivasspor as favourite in this tie without doubt and to some extend is getting easiest route at qualifications from Turkish clubs, but still it needs to show strong games first against Petrocub and hopefully on next stage with getting to group stage Conference League in confident steps.

Sivasspor are been lucky in this stages but it needs to focus to this games for not getting unwanted surprise.
