What happened in Turkish football today? 30/06/2021

Fenerbahce has made transfer deal with Steven Caulkner for 2.5 years

Fenerbahce has made transfer deal with Alanyaspor player Steven Caulkner who did provide pretty strong and confident performance at his previous club in recent years playing important role for good results.

It needs to be noted that Steven Caulkner is known to be having lots of ups and downs in his career and personal life but since joining Alanyaspor did start providing good form in defence role and would be joining Fenerbahce in very good form and also being familiar with Super League could provide some additional level. It needs to be noted that apart of Atilla Szalai, Fenerbahce does have some difficult at defence so this would provide needed strength which it needs with expectation of him getting strong understanding with Szalai without doubt. This also been highest spot for Caulkner from recent years and hence would be expected to provide good performance without doubt due of psychological difficulties he had some years ago.

This been very good transfer for Fenerbahce without doubt and would provide needed strength in defence for club for next season.

Antalyaspor signs Sherel Floranus and Diego Sousa.

Antalyaspor possibly being most active side during transfer front on this day as it transferred Sherel Floranus for 3 and Diego Sousa for 4-years as both sides does have some potential for upcoming season.

Even through Antalyaspor did have some high notes from previous season which includes getting into Turkish Cup final, in overall it didnt have very good season and without doubt it did need to have some squad changes and getting those potential young players would provide needed strength even through Diego Sousa is more likely as investment for future as it is unclear how long he would getting playing time at goalkeeping spot due of some inexperience. Still, those players could provide some confident performance with both players likely wanting to get some top performance on their part too without doubt.

Therefore, those 2 transfers would provide needed strength which side is focussing into and would possibly help for side to have better season compare to previous one.

Empower Sports has declined rumours that Paul Fonseca would join Fenerbahce.

Paulo Fonseca agent company Empower Sports has decline rumours that its head coach has made deal with Fenerbahce for head coach position as earlier on the day Turkish public service broadcaster TRT announced there is deal.

Fenerbahce currently has problems with making deal with head coach as it does focus into international coach focussing into Germany and Portugal but as Ali Koc has stated themselves there is seems to be issue with bringing coaches into Turkey and specifically to Fenerbahce due of uncertainty of position as club does change coaches frequently, issue which it did create themselves for years and certainly could be understood from coaches. With Fenerbahce starting pre-season training camp on 1st July, it would certainly aim to make an appointment at short notice as it promised that it would be announced on 28th June earlier.

Ali Koc without doubt does his best to find new coach but it does look like he is not being very successful at doing so until now.
