What happened in Turkish football today? 06/11/2020

Besiktas failed to provide right attacking tempo against Gaziantep.

After getting wins from previous 2 games, Besiktas did lose to Gaziantep with 3:1 scoreline as it failed to provide right tempo for the game against opponents which led for them to be failing to create high number of the chances while Gaziantep used their opportunities.

At preview of this game, our blog did mention that Gaziantep would be able to provide some issues to Besiktas as Gaziantep compare to previous two opponents of Istabul side does show some fast tempo while Besiktas seems to be failing to do so. Without doubt, this how game has been developed as Besiktas until end of the 1st half when it tried to find equaliser didnt provide high tempo and has failed not only find many chances but didnt also prevent Gaziantep to create some chances and finding 3 goals. It could be stated in Besiktas side that it did play with 10 men for most amount of the game but even when red card was given to goalkeeper got red card on his part so therefore it is hard to state that it did much affect to game even through game wouldnt end with 3:1 scoreline with at best could hope for draw if gam ended with 1:1 scoreline.  Only possible outcome for Besiktas has been for Cyle Larin to continue scoring which could led him to become one of the key player for upcoming games. Therefore, it did become clear once again to get rightfully tempo and this aspect without doubt would need to be analysed and improved at hope to be more effective with attacks during this national team break.

Gaziantep meanwhile did provide right focus to the game with being organised in all of the fields preventing opponet to create chances and also converting their own opportunities and hence without doubt did deserve this result.

Besiktas continues to show not strong performance in area of tempo which did affect into this outcome and this area should be improved on during this national team break.

Sivasspor gets crucial win against Qarabag.

Sivasspor got its 1st win at Europa League with beating Qarabag with 2:0 scoreline showing tactically game of mostly focussing into counterattacks and allowing opponent to control ball with strong defensive game.

With both sides coming out for win, Sivasspor has decided into area which it does best with defending as it did expect for Azeri side to also coming out for win and aiming to create some opportunities which could be ended with goals, as Sivasspor didnt show so far good game with counter-attacking. Stating that, Sivasspor didnt provide much anti-football with scoring 2 goals and creating some other opportunities during game which by itself did show that it was coming for win. Right now, with getting its 1st win in group it did find itself in the fighting for 2nd spot with Maccabi Tel-Aviv very likely even through it would need to get another win against Qarabag. Meanwhile, there should not be belief that same game next weekday would be enough as Qarabag surely would learn lessons from this game and provide different game.

Sivasspor did get important win and with winning next week could turn this group in its own advantage in sense that it would in control of its own faith.

Fenerbahce does come out as strong favourite for Konyaspor game

Fenerbahce will be resuming its so far almost perfect season with playing against Konyaspor, opponent which in recent years leads for side to get positive results and seems to be case so far.

Even through Konyaspor did get unexpected win against Besiktas with 4:1 scoreline, it needs to be noted that there are having pretty poor results and tends to be showing pretty slow tempo game in most of the games, which would be in hand for Fenerbahce which more and more becoming attacking side and hence with showing such continuation of game would not be expected to provide much issue to Fenerbahce and help to enter to national team break with high morale. Without doubt, Fenerbahce would be seeking to show high level game. Konyaspor on their part would be hoping to get similar performance as it did against Besiktas, but condition of their opponent is pretty different right now.

Fenerbahce are coming out as confident favourites and they would do transform that with they performance.
