What happened in Turkish football today? 25/11/2020

Manchester United showed good reaction to previous game

Manchester United after losing in Istanbul on previous week, has been expected to show some strong reaction against Basaksehirspor at Champions League 4th week and it did just that with winning game confident scoreline 4:1.

Basaksehirspor on they part provided very similar performance to which their did so far in this tournament showing its best football without showing signs of scare to its opponent from which help it did provide some positive view so far in tournament even if its underdog. Without doubt Manchester United on their part did much better job with Bruno Fernanades looked to be much more focussed and showing why he is best player in English side which he didnt do so much on previous game. Basaksehirspor performance on 2nd half should be praised without doubt without giving despite of scoreline but needs to be remembered that United allowed them to extend and its been late to do so which seems to be issue for them in recent games. Still, it did show some good game in the end and at least showed best performance once again.

Basaksehirspor still has opportunity to get to knockout stages from table, but looking its opponents it more realistic for them to expect last spot in group.

Fenerbahce did provide great game against Sivas Belediyespor.

Fenerbahce has started its Turkish Cup at highest note beating 3rd division side Sivas Belediyespor with 4:0 scoreline dominating for most amount of game with Mame Thiam finding 2 goals.

Fenerbahce did come out with some of the young players and also players who didnt get enough playing during this season and did provide some important tests to its head coach Erol Bulut, and looking in the game overall both with performance and attitude would make him satisfied with being aware that players are focussed into success for the team and also fight for starting 11 spot. Even through youngsters due of inexperience didnt show great game as would been expected, attitude should be praised. Even through this win has been expected from them, it would provide still important confidence for Besiktas derby game where it would come out as favourites.

Fenerbahce hence did get confident win and does show for now signs that it could be fighting for double title in this season until end.

Sivasspor would come out to must-win game against Qarabag

Sivasspor will be resuming its aim to get to knockout stages of Europa League with 4th week game against Qarabag at the game which it needs to win to keep its hopes.

Due of Nagorno-Karabakh War, which is currently been at stabilised ceasefire, UEFA has told in last month to Azeri side to play outside country where due of stront cultural connection it has decided to play games in Istanbul, which does provide Sivasspor not to travel abroad. Even through both sides are close to each other in strength, Sivasspor did show strong confident game in previous game which does provide signs that it could get result. In addition, compare to Qarabag Sivasspor opportunities right now for knockout stage are higher and could provide some extra motivation. However, win for Qarabag would bring them again in opportunity to get knockout stage and hence there would be aiming to show reaction for sure.

Sivasspor does come out as favourites but it would be tough fixture for them very likely but there are motivated.
