What happened in Turkish football today? 09/11/2020

Galatasaray ended week as main winners.

Galatasaray has got important win against Sivasspor with 2:1 scoreline but most importantly did provide confident performance for around 70 minutes and Arda Turan scoring 1st goal for side after joining them.

When looking how game has been played until Sivasspor has made scoreline 2:1, it could be stated that whole side did show outstanding performance focussing into 3 points with Arda Turan, Sofiane Feghouli and without doubt Orkun Kocuk showing high focus with playing one of their best performance during whole season. This game without doubt been very important for Arda Turan with finding 2nd goal during game and showing without doubt high level game as he has been selected as captain which certainly provided strong motivation to him. Without doubt, Orkun Kocuk despite of conceding one goal did show overall impressive game with providing some important saves towards end. Only issue which could be noted for Galatasaray is showing signs of tiredness towards end as Sivasspor got control of game which could be due of players not being entirely fit.

Still, with opponents above them losing points its been very important and could be seen as main winner of this week as it reduced point difference to 1 with top sides.

Abdulkadir Omur and Gokhan Akkan been taken away from squad due of injury.

With Turkish National Team being focussed and preparing for friendly game against Croatia prior to Nations League game against Russia and Hungary, Abdulkadir Omur and Gokhan Akkan been taken away from squad due of injury.

With both players being injured on their clubs, with Omur getting injury during game against Alanyaspor and Akkan during training session to some extend will not satisfy Senol Gunes as he is currently focussed into getting closer to ideal squad for Euro 2020 even through he did state that some players currently not selected can be called. Meanwhile, due of Gokhan Akkan, Fenerbahce and prior to this Youth National Team player Altay Bayindir been called to squad for first time in senior level hence getting reward for sure for good performance at Fenerbahce during this season.

Turkey now are focussed where it would be aiming to get good results both to end Nations League at high note and get into right track for Euro 2020.

Besiktas 3 players and personnel got positive Covid19 results.

Besiktas has announced that 3 of its players and 1 personnel staff member has got positive test results at Covid 19 showing once again that this virus is still being active and spreading in country.

As always club didnt announce which players been infected but with national team break and due fo no information from national sides, it does look like its been players which will not play in this break, could be seen as good news as their could recover within 2 weeks and be ready for Basaksehirspor game even through would have issues in sense lack of training. Again, this development does once again prove into factor that every needs to be careful in this period.

As always, our blog wishes full recovery to this 4 personnel and to everyone who has Covid19 in fastest manner.
