What happened in Turkish football today? 20/03/2019

Fikret Orman would test capabilities of Guti as coach until end of the season.

Besiktas CEO Fikret Orman has stated today that he would be viewing into how assistant coach Guti would be fulfilling his job as main responsible with team during absence of its head coach Senol Gunes who would be  at national team, hence keeping an open door for Spanish coach to take main role for next season.

As Senol Gunes would officially end his spell at Besiktas in the end of the season, question regarding who would take place is still unclear as some new names would be coming in upcoming weeks. However, Guti has good opportunity, assuming he wants to take this role, to show himself during this national team break where he would be accepting to take main role. Meanwhile, Orman has also stated in same interview that he would discuss with Senol Gunes to let him take more active role at this position. Besiktas actually still looks for name with who to replace Gunes at the end of the season, likely to be Turkish name, but it is clear that it keeps Guti in hand if it wont find replacement or if Guti does prove that he is capable to take this position at high note and let team have good season next year.

Surely, this is good tactic taking account that Guti would provide good coaching impression until end of the season as team would be able to carry on at most important role with someone who is inside team.

Valbuena did give signs that he would like to stay at Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce player Mathieu Valbuena even through didnt provide clear answer regarding of his future at team, after his contract expires in the end of the season, he did give signs that he would like to stay at the team.

It needs to be noted that Ersun Yanal makes use of Valbuena in pretty effective way and before getting injured he did actually show some good performance so it would be expected that Fenerbahce would likely aim to keep player at squad unless some impressive transfer offer would be provided. Valbuena despite of poor season of team in overall, does state that he feels comfortable at side and is happy with his personal performance which also would be seen as good sign that Valbuena would like to stay at team but still until summer transfer window their is very long time and some changes could easily take place in upcoming period. But it needs to be kept that their is good atmosphere at team for him to stay as he has connection with teammates, coach and fans.

Valbuena despite of his age is still very creative player and this kind of player Fenerbahce needs, so it would aim to keep him very likely and aim to extend contract.

Galatasaray are interested to transfer Kenan Karaman.

With high posibility of Henry Onyekuru leaving Galatasaray after loan period with Everton would be over, Galatasaray has focussed into alternative towards Fortuna Dusseldorf player Kenan Karaman.

With an issue of foreign players limit to be changed for next season and also focussing into young but quality Turkish player Kenan Karaman is good focus, player which is also national team player and would be taking place in this week games. Galatasaray also been heavily cricitised for having high amount of foreign players, especially with starting in recent period with all foreign players at starting 11. If it manages to transfer Karaman in summer, it would be able to have starting 11 quality Turkish player for sure and it is likely to have heavily its summer transfer focussed into that. As always, this is only rumour but their are high chances that Galatasaray would make this name among priorities.

Many clubs in Turkey have wanted to transfer Karaman in recent transfer windows and attitude of Karaman wanting to play in Turkey or not could also play a crucial role here.
