What happened in Turkish football today? 13/03/2019

Besiktas would focus to keep its loaned players Adem Ljajic and Shinji Kagawa at the side.

Besiktas are aiming to sign contracts with its players Adem Ljajic and Shinji Kagawa who have been loaned from Torino and Borussia Dortmund respectively as club are satisfied with performance of both players.

Even through it could be argued that Besiktas are having difficult season compare to especially previous 3 ones, it needs to be noted that those two players are playing an important role for club still have some hope for title with their goals and overall effect for team performance. One of the strongest aspects for Besiktas at making deal with those players and their club is that both Ljajic and Kagawa are satisfied at the team and feel comfortable playing for this team. Of course, not getting into Champions League 2nd spot at the league also plays an important role as this factor could affect with their decisions as both players might be recieving transfer offers from teams which would be performing at Champions League which is as knows plays an important role for players decision. Regardless of that, it does look like players are happy at team and biggest issue which could be arised from Besiktas is to make deal with respective clubs in sense of financially.

As always things would become more clear when transfer window would come closer but Besiktas would surely aim its best to keep those players for longer period of time at team.

Number of TFF administrators would like to see Nihat Ozdemir as new CEO.

It has become clear that number of personalities would like to see new CEO of Turkish Football Federation to be current administrator of TFF and ex-Fenerbahce administrator Nihat Ozdemir.

For now, there has not been any candidates stated publicly for CEO election which would take place on 1st June, but their are been going around quite actively at media name of Nihat Ozdemir in past few days. Nihat Ozdemir without doubt did do some great jobes while being at Fenerbahce as he was among administrators during match-fixing scandal and has done many effective works for defence of club. Taking account of also good years as administrators at TFF and also general experience at football industry in country it would be seen quite natural for him to be seen among one of the leading candidates for most important role at Turkish football. It is still unknown if Nihat Ozdemir even considers to take this role but it is expected that he would recieve high amount of support for this position if he would announce his candidacy.

With new CEO of TFF, would as always be new beginning for federation and Nihat Ozdemir in all fairness does have all credentials to make important decision at such post for sure.

Rizespor are showing memorable performance during 2nd half of the season.

Without doubt one of the teams which has shown U-turn performance during 2nd half of the season has been Rizespor which has started this period at last place of the league with 12 points and being 5 points behind safety zone but has gained 19 points and reached to 31 points with 5 points away from drop zone.

With high expectations of safety zone from drop-out expects to be at least 37 points during this season and could reach even to 40+, it needs to be stated that Rizespor are safe from relegation. However, with such great performance of the team and recieving high momentum, it would be seen as big surprise if it wont be able to stay at the league and would need to have some serious poor results. Without doubt, Okan Buruk has played an important role for such great results of the team in 2019 as he always manages to get best from his players which does have some limited quality in its hand. Rizespor without doubt would be aiming to carry on such good performance with such momentum and might even aim for Europa League spot with such closeness of the league, but as been mentioned it needs to be aware that it does need at least 6 point to stay at Super League.

Rizespor are on right track, and if it carries on this performance until end of the season it would certainly be among best teams of 2nd half of the season.
