What happened in Turkish football today? 14/03/2019

Once again, Fenerbahce needs to start getting results.

Fenerbahce without doubt would be aiming to enter to 2-week international team break which would be followed with local election taking place in Turkey which leads to no games at last weekend of month, with a win against Sivasspor and raise its motivation.

With 9 games left at the season and being 1 point ahead of relegation zone, Fenerbahce has no opportunity to provide any risk in this weeks and if it wants to at least stay at the league and at best to raise up at the standings, it would need to start getting wins at the league as soon as it can.Sivasspor meanwhile does provide some good performance with its head coach Hakan Keles and with mathematically their still have some scare of being relegated despite of being at mid-table but still would also take this game seriously. Fenerbahce in addition of winning game would be aiming also without doubt to solve its all issues which it has in recent weeks, which is meanwhile is almost whole field starting from goalkeeper going until an attacker. Fenerbahce would urgently needs to start to get results and Sivasspor could be starting point for them.

Sivasspor does have good performance in recent weeks and it would provide some difficult time to Fenerbahce, so it would be another difficult game for Fenerbahce for sure.

Firat Aydinus has recieved 30-day deprivation of rights from PFDK.

Professional Football Disciplinary Committee has provided 30-day deprivation of rights to Turkish referee Firat Aydinus and 10-days deprivation for his assistant Yusuf Bozdogan due of conversation both had during Super League 24th week game between Yeni Malatyaspor and Basaksehirspor.

It is reported that Aydinus had an aggressive conversation with his assistant after disagreeing with offside decision using foul and aggresive language. With this conversation being reported and send to PFDK, it has decided to provide disciplinary actions towards referees in quiet rightfully way. It is pretty unusual for referees to recieve fines and bans from PFDK, but this action needs to be done as it affects to the game, relationship of football and general image of football. Most importantly it has send strong message to all referees that their are also under control and would recieve rightfully action if someone would be done which goes against positive image of football. Most importantly it is strong message for Firat Aydinus for future even through there is expectation he might end his referee career at the end of the season but this incident surely affected his image.

It is important to control anyone who could provide bad image to this beautiful game and hence PFDK did right job with such punishment towards Aydinus.

TFF might reduce foreign limit to 6+6+2

Even through this is being rumour right now, there has been strong reports coming out that PFDK considers to change its foreign players limit from 6+2+2 system at which 6 players would be starting at starting 11, 2 players would be at substitute and 2 players at the reserves.

Even through reduction of foreign players, in our view, would be good thing and affect positively to Turkish players and national team, this sudden drop from allowing unlimited foreign players at starting 11 to dropping to 6 players could affect negatively to teams due of current players and also transfer policy. Assuming number of clubs has done transfers for unlimited starting 11, this limitation should be reduced step-by-step taking account contracts sides has with team. Coming to amount of limitation in near future, this blog despite of popular view actually supports limited amount of foreigners as it does affect for clubs to focus into its academy players and we are seeing performances of Turkish National Team. People who seems to be for high amount of foreign players are mainly focussed into keeping league into popularity but it is important to look at this issue in long-term and bigger picture, and as it is seen having unlimited limit only provides issues to national team.

Once again this are only rumours and it is expected that TFF could be making an announcement about this issue in short period of time.
