Bafetembi Gomis penalty goal has brought 21st title to Galatasaray.
Without being able to convert last 2 penalty kicks, Galatasaray player Bafetembi Gomis has moved to provide very importantly penalty kick against Goztepe which has brought a 21st title for Galatasaray at the Super League as if he didnt score last 20 minutes could been played differently.
Even without doubt Galatasaray has come out to the last game against Goztepe with an aim to win game and not playing for a draw with taking account it was playing away and also with quality opponent with strong fan base, it had some nervous times especially during 1st half. In fact, Goztepe has shown much more attacking game compare to Galatasaray. There was risk that Galatasaray would get into more stressful as both their opponents for title race were winning games and conceding one goal could move them as low as 3rd place. However, with recieving penalty kick Bafetembi Gomis with strong self-belief has come out to penalty spot with approval from head coach Fatih Terim and has scored penalty to Beto, who has saved most amount of penalties in this season. With controlling game afterwards Galatasaray has got well-deserved title as it would been expected that Goztepe would stop playing effectively after conceding due of morale.
Galatasaray had some nervous moments during the game and their recieved what their were searching for and has got 21st title in history of the league.
Even through Igor Tudor started season at great manner, Fatih Terim was one who has brought winning spirit to team.
Now looking at this title as whole season, it could be stated that this season quite naturally could be divided into two halves which is with head coach Igor Tudor and CEO Dursun Ozbek and 2nd half with Fatih Terim being head coach while CEO Mustafa Cengiz.
It needs to be stated that despite of shocking loss against Ostersunds, Igor Tudor Galatasaray had started season at very high point with getting very comfortable wins back-to-back and at one point raising its leadership to 8 points. However, Galatasaray has been played, and this was noted a lot back on those days at our blog, that Galatasaray did have not very hard opponents. When Galatasaray started playing crucial games especially away it start losing crucial points which led administration to sack Igor Tudor and appoint Fatih Terim and later change CEO, during surprising result at election where Mustafa Cengiz has won against Dursun Ozbek. Another note has been that Galatasaray has become champions with highest losses who won league title with 7 losses, all coming during away games. In fact, when even it has won at home, apart of Karabukspor, their had some trouble at showing great and attacking game. But Galatasaray has won impressive 16 games at home only drawing against Fenerbahce with 0:0 scoreline at home. Fatih Terim focus to the league title without doubt has pushed team forward with his character to bring only best from sides and motivate them for attacking game.
Galatasaray had ups and downs during this season and had some difficulties especially during period of Igor Tudor but it did get deserved title and despite of Tudor poor performance his start also plays an important role here.
Fenerbahce poor start of the season has cost them title.
Fenerbahce season could be described into two halves where it has started season very badly and ending season at high note with only losing 1 games during last 8 games. It could be stated that Fenerbahce winning performance has come too late.
One of the few positive aspects which could be provided from Fenerbahce in this season is that as team it was improving as season was progressing especially from November. It needs to be remembered that Fenerbahce has been 8 point league leaders Galatasaray and everyone including this blog has stated that Fenerbahce chances for league title are very far away. With taking this account it has ended season with 2nd spot with 2nd qualifying round ticket to Champions League and at one point mathematically was only away from league title yesterday with Goztepe only scoring against Galatasaray. Therefore, this season could be heavily criticised when look an overall especially questioning why team wasnt able to start season well when coach Aykut Kocaman has joined team in start of summer but ending could be seen as success. Taking account that Champions League qualifier new system provides more opportunities to teams which has problems before, it has good potential to get back to competitions after 10 years. Fenerbahce has also became most-goalscoring team despite of not showing too much attacking game and not many goals coming from attackers, an aspect which also needs specific focus.
So, as been stated Fenerbahce had lost its title mainly due of its performance at 1st half of season even through it did have opportunities to have more chance for title during games against Akhisarspor and Galatasaray.

- Alanyaspor CEO Hasan Cavusoglu has stated that club didnt recieve any transfer offers for its player Emre Akbaba
