Trabzonspor has appointed Unal Karaman as club's head coach.
Trabzonspor has appointed coach Unal Karaman as club's new coach in pretty unexpected manner as their were rumours that club is having negotiations with different coaches which included Tamer Tuna who has signed with Sivasspor today.
Unal Karaman as would been remembered has been coach of relegated Karabukspor and it was expected that he would stay at the team for next season also and would be working to build team during this summer period. However, it suddenly became announced that Unal Karaman has made an agreement with Trabzonspor with official signing ceremony been done today. It needs to be stated that Unal Karaman are among most legendary players at the team who has spend his almost whole playing career at the team and also took place at different places at the club after career. Having big respect at the club he would be able to turn this into good results and also focussing into reducing value of players looking for quality young players around Turkey. Again, as he had come to Karabukspor when team was in poor condition and also been arleady relegated it would be unfair to criticise him a lot for not winning any games since he has joined them.
Without doubt this has been biggest change of team since Trabzonspor CEO Ahmet Agaoglu has been appointed and he would work that would work for team to become stronger for next season.
Goztepe didnt extend contract with its player Sabri Sarioglu, Selcuk Sahin and Gunay Guvenc.
Goztepe didnt extended contract with its key players Sabri Sarioglu, Selcuk Sahin and Gunay Guvenc which has been seen as surprising development as all 3 players has played an important role during past season.
In fact it was arleady seen surprise that it didnt make an agreement with Tamer Tuna and also this news does raise some questions as team seems to get rid of its main reasons of such good performance during last season. This does show that possibly team has some financial problems and/or has some changes planned for upcoming season which it believes would be done for good for the team. In normal circumstances, without doubt we do observe that team aims to keep its squad of key players after good season, and Goztepe without doubt has fulfilled its expectation during past season. To some extend and to all respect it would be seen that Sabri Sarioglu and Selcuk Sahin could be taken away due of age and doesnt fit team aim to get younger for next season but Gunay Guvenc decision could be seen specifically surprising as he could move team forward and being great alternative for Beto.
Again, there could be some revision done at team for next season which could become clear during summer transfer window as this big changes are unclear for now at the team.
Kaan Ayhan has extended contract with Fortuna Dusseldorf until 2021.
Fortuna Dusseldorf player Kaan Ayhan has extended contract with his team for another 3 years and without doubt would be aiming to carry on his performance at Bundesliga for next season after playing an important role for team to be promoted.
As it is known, Fortuna Dusseldorf has ended 2nd Bundesliga as leaders and Kaan Ayhan has played an important role for this sucess at the club and hence it could be seen natural for this extension. Kaan Ayhan did also state beforehand that he is happy to be at German side and hence it would been accepted that player has made a deal as soon as offer was provided to him as he would be felt at comfortable team where he is able to provide good performance. Of course, next season with team to be promoted to higher level it would become tougher season for team and also for Kaan Ayhan but being national team player it would be accepted that he would fulfill those expectations. Therefore, this should be seen as good opportunity for Kaan Ayhan to carry on good performance against top German clubs.
Kaan Ayhan as stated has been among most key players at Fortuna Dusseldorf past season and hence team want to keep him is not surprising at all.

Turkish National Team has shown game against Iran which provides potential for future.
Turkish National Team has started this 3-game international friendly game with 2:1 win against Iranian National Team and has shown some promising and positive performance during game especially at the start of the both halves.
Taking account that Turkey has played its friendly game against team which would be taking place at the World Cup in Russia this summer it was important to get a win to raise motivation and confidence of the younger players even through Iran are below level of performance to them. It has started game in pretty good attacking mode during game with creating high number of the chances and has prevented Iran to get high number of opportunities as the game progressed. Cenk Tosun has shown once again why he is being leading player of the team and also why he is showing great performance in Premier League with finding great goals during game. It still needs to be mentioned however that Turkish National Team did show some parts of getting tired during game and this has allowed Iran to create some chances. This tiredness could be seen due of lack of motivation and also tiredness from season but still this factor needs to be solved and national team needs to focus to provide high level performance for longer period against Tunisia and Russia.
Still it was important to get a win against Iran and provide some motivation and confidence as Mircea Lucescu with his own words aims to create team which would hate to lose games.
Bursaspor has signed Samet Aybaba for 3 years.
Bursaspor has signed head coach Samet Aybaba to the club for 3 years as club's CEO Ali Ay following winning CEO election last weekend has promised that their would make deal with Turkish head coach.
Samet Aybaba is one among most experienced coaches among Super League teams who has also experienced career with Besiktas beforehand but has mainly spend his career among mediocre teams. He did show good performance during last season at Sivasspor with aiming to show high-level performance during his period and hence has ended season with top 10 position. Therefore, it could be stated that as coach is in good condition to move Bursaspor ahead as it aims to improve its performances from last 2 seasons when it almost has been relegated from Super League. With Ali Ay, despite of being reelected as CEO, did recieve lots of criticism for this performance of team would aim to solve this issue especially as he got 2nd chance with being elected. It was also important to solve this issue before June and now team can focus with summer transfer window to create team which would aim for high spots.
It does look for now that club has made good deal to appoint Samet Aybaba but of course performance next season would show how he would affect to the team.
Sivasspor has made 1-year agreement with Tamer Tuna.
As Sivasspor ex-coach Samet Aybaba has made deal with Bursaspor, his former side has announced that it has made 1-year deal with Tamer Tuna who would be aiming to continue last season performance of Sivasspor and Goztepe next season.
Goztepe and Sivasspor has been promoted to the Super League this season and have also shown great performance with ending season at top 10 and one of the main role of this has been performance of both coaches. Tamer Tuna who has been appointed after being coach of Senol Gunes at Besiktas has managed to bring similar style of game to Goztepe and taking account of strength did provide good performance. With Sivasspor stating that it has made 1-year deal with Tamer Tuna and contract would be signed in upcoming days does show that it acknowledge Tuna performance and believes team can move forward. It is quite natural that after good season of Sivasspor it would be focussing into coach who can provide successful performance with reasonable price, and Tamer Tuna is great name for that without doubt. It could be stated that appointment of Tuna is great alternative for Samet Aybaba.
Time would show if Tamer Tuna would be able to continue this performance but he does have great experience at Super League at Besiktas and Goztepe and would be aiming to carry on this momentum at Sivasspor for sure.

Turkey starts its friendly period game with win against Iran.
Turkish National Team has started its international friendly game period prior to World Cup which it would not attend with a win against Iranian National Team with two goals scored by Cenk Tosun and has won game with 2:1 scoreline.
Turkish National Team has been observed to be providing an attacking game in start of the both games and did come for a focus to win game despite of it being friendly game. Head coach Mircea Lucescu has stated prior to game that he is willing to create team which would be hating to lose game and this aspect has been observant from today's game. Only problem is that in some times it did lose this tempo mainly due of tiredness which could come from long and intense season and also lacking of concentration and focus as it wont get to major tournament this summer. Unfortunately, this incapability has allowed Iran to create high number of attacks and hence has shown some lack of defensive game of the side. Serdar Kirintili who was playing as goalkeeper has also shown great performance with providing some crucial saves including ones which he created himself from needless mistakes however. It is still important for Turkish National Team to show an attacking game for 90 minutes which it would be able to improve with friendlies against Tunisia and Russia. Cenk Tosun meanwhile has shown his leading role at the team with two great goals and taking leadership role at today's game.
Iranian National Team has shown some good performance with showing good organised game with creating some chances even through when it has been played until pressure as Turkey has shown shows that Iran has some trouble. It has some good football knowledge and way of game but it does look it would have trouble times against strong sides at World Cup 2018 as expected.
Turkish National Team did start its friendly period with good performance showing some positive aspects and also areas which need to improve such defence and it would be able to test their performance against Tunisia on 1st June and also 5th June against Russia.
Antalyaspor are made provisional agreement with John Toshack...
As number of clubs are currently looking for new head coaches as we are entering slowly to transfer period, it became clear that Antalyaspor has made provisional agreement with coach John Toshack who had some memorable performance at Besiktas late 1990's.
It is certain that Antalyaspor which was starting previous season with great expectation didnt fulfill them especially due of performances of the coaches at the team which has shown performance way below which would been expected from them. Taking account into financial conditions it needs to be stated that John Toschack does look to be great option and even through for team fighting for league title would be over-expectation, Toshack as coach would be capable to provide mid-table performance and possibly even fight for Europa League spot. Even through he didnt been coaching in Turkey for 20 years now, he is still aware of how things work in Turkey and would have good advantage for this. Again, there are still at negotiations stage but John Toshack could be good choice for team if deal would be made between sides.
As been noted, Antalyaspor would aim to have less stressful season compare to one which would be ending and is looking for coach which can fulfill maximum performance from squad and Toshack is capable to provide that.
...and also has made provissional agreement with Erol Bulut.
Interestingly their were news that Antalyaspor has also made agreement with Yeni Malatyaspor coach Erol Bulut.
Without doubt Yeni Malatyaspor has been one of the newcomers past season who have shown great performance if taking account it was their 1st season at the league and without doubt Erol Bulut role for this success has been great. Therefore, as Antalyaspor without doubt is club which aims to have more stable season compare to last 2 seasons, would be hoping to get coach which would be able to move team forward. Taking account, to all respect to Yeni Malatyaspor the team doesnt have a squad which can fight for top position but despite of that Erol Bulut has managed to keep side at top 10. Now with Antalyaspor does have better side and aims which are at least for Europa League spot would be able to Erol Bulut as coach to move team forward. In similar as above news about Toshack this are based into media reports but according to those both sides are close to make an agreement.
Erol Bulut would be suitable also in sense that Antalyaspor would be focussing into local players and coaches and appointing Erol Budur would be right track for this aim.

Turkish National Team would start its friendly 3-game period against Iran.
Turkish National Team would starts its friendly period where it would be playing with World Cup contenders with Iranian National Team as Turkey has heavily youth players which would be aiming to prove themselves for Nations League which would start in September.
As it was stated before-hand, Turkish National Team head coach Mircea Lucescu due of not getting qualified for World Cup 2018 would now focus into buiding stronger and younger side as this project has also taken place during last friendlies games against Macedonia and Republic Of Ireland. Playing against Iran, which is among top nations at football from their region and also regulars at the World Cup in recent years, would be good test for the team. It could be argued that as level of team is not much higher compare to Turkey but with Iran approaching differently due of World Cup coming up it would be able for Turkish National Team to provide game against side which has high aims. Those young players at game tomorrow would have great opportunity to prove themselves for Mircea Lucescu for sure and does provide signals that trust from him towards them is in place and their can be at side which would be fighting for Euro2020 spot after summer.
Iran as been mentioned could be seen as not strong opponents but it is tough game for most younger players and good chance to test them in such a level without doubt.
Besiktas has made principal agreement with Yusuf Simsek for assistant coach role.
It became known that Besiktas has made principal agreement with coach Yusuf Simsek for the role of assistant coach for Senol Gunes as club has stated in recent days that it would be looking for assistant to Senol Gunes.
Besiktas has played last season with losing Tamer Tuna and hence leaving Senol Gunes to be alone at coaching level and by some this has been negative consequences as Besiktas didnt provide great performance at the Super League as it ended at 4th place. With start looking for different names for this role, it became clear that club has made deal with Yusuf Simsek, who did have playing career at the club, and are now awaiting for approval from Senol Gunes as it is still unknown if Gunes would be interested for Simsek to be his assistant. Yusuf Simsek meanwhile does have some coaching experience at lower leagues and taking account level of performance does have lots of success but still needs to be done a lot to improve. As could be seen from Tamer Tuna case, Senol Gunes can provide this experience to him and hence it would be also big advantage for Simsek himself and is very likely to agree on this term.
If Yusuf Simsek, or other coach would be appointed as assistant coach for Senol Gunes, it would certainly reduce stressful condition for Gunes as he would be able to have 2nd hand who would be able to recognise issues which might not be seen from Gunes during games and trainings.
Besiktas has made principal agreement with Deportivo La Coruna player Emre Mor.
It has also been reported today that Besiktas has made an principal agreement with Deportivo La Coruna player Emre Colak as his side has been relegated from La Liga in this season which certainly would not keep Colak willing to stay at the team.
It needs to be stated that after having career at Galatasaray, Emre Colak has been travelled to Spain with high expectation and he has fulfilled for most amount of time being also selected as player of the team several times by the fans. He didnt show great performance during this season but as team has been relegated this could be mainly seen as collective issue. As player, he is still be able to provide performance at Besiktas and factor that he has all transfer fee in his hands would allow Besiktas to sign him for low amount of cash which is good news as Besiktas does need to be careful with its economical issues during this summer transfer window as aims to reduce its total 80 million euro players salaries to 55 million euro. It does look like that both sides did make strong deal and unless their is last minute changes he would be able to join them.
Besiktas would certainly aim to make this kind of transfers with focussing into quality players with low transfer fees as it would be aiming to solve mainly its attacking section of the squad during this summer.

Mustafa Cengiz has been reelected as Galatasaray CEO.
Galatasaray CEO Mustafa Cengiz has been re-elected during today's CEO election which does show that club's administration are showing full support to the current CEO who has won surprising 4 months ago during snap election against Dursun Ozbek and beating him once again during today's election.
This dominance of Mustafa Cengiz during CEO election, as he has recieved more votes than his opponents has been come to the factor that he has provided trust to the team with how he has run team in past months. It does look like club is going into right direction and Cengiz as CEO is capable to find solution to the economical solution. It also needs to be remembered that current title did come when he was leading the team which without doubt does affect do the election of the result. This result without doubt would not be seen as surprise as he did get strong support from members of the team and also supporters during those past months and has provide hope for good future for the team with his statements and also achievements he shown last 4 months. It needs to be also mentioned that having great administrator Abdurrahim Albayrak who leads motivation of the players and also had always experienced league title while being administrator also played an important role.
Mustafa Cengiz has come to short period when he won last time but now he would reign of 3 years which would be without more crucial and he would show how much he would lead team right now.
Playing against World Cup contenders would be good test for youngsters in national team.
Turkish National Team would be playing in duration of 2 weeks 3 friendly games which it would be meeting with World Cup 2018 contenders Iran, Tunisia and also hosts Russia. It would be present to hope that team also would be among entrants to World Cup but it didnt happen.
Even through those opponents would not be seen as top level clubs, it would be still good tests especially for younger player to see their strength against team which would be in Russia during this summer including highly aimed hosts Russia. The main aim for Mircea Lucescu without doubt would be also to check conditions of the younger names as he is aiming to build future team for Nations League which would be starting in September. Therefore being also young side and also playing against team at World Cup it would be able to see how much this side is ready fro Euro 2020 qualifiers and Nations League and even through the result will not be crucial for the team for those games it would be moving forward to check how team would be playing and how well their would understand each other. Therefore, those games would be important to check in what condition is national side right now prior to Nations League games in September.
Therefore, those games would be great test for Mircea Lucescu to see how the side is ready for serious games which would be starting in autumn and if their is good future for the national team.
Wolverhampton has offered 12 million euro for Fenerbahce player Josef de Souza.
At the transfer front which has been stated by Turkish sports media, one of the main ones from today has been news that Wolverhampton are willing to offer 12 million euro for Fenerbahce player Josef de Souza.
Josef de Souza has been among most important games at the Fenerbahce for the recent past and it would be unlikely that team would be willing to sell him during this summer even through English side does provide good offer for him. It also known that Josef de Souza also wants to stay at the team and even through he might not see as star player of the team he has been adapted to the way team plays and does show great performance at the Super League and it is unlikely Fenerbahce would want to sell him in this summer at least. Wolverhampton however does provide good offer and has shown that their are interested with him and hence this could mean that English side might carry on this negotiations but as been stated it does seem that it needs to work on that and provide strong offers.
Of course, as this blog always states all of the clubs, including Fenerbahce does need lots of cash due of economical condition and good offer from Wolverhampton or other club could mean that Fenebahce would see Josef but it doesnt look that 12 million euro would be enough.

Emre Belozoglu has extended his contract with Basaksehirspor for another year.
Basaksehirspor has extended contract with its player Emre Belezoglu for 1 year as following meeting both sides has agreed that Belezoglu would extend his playing career for an additional year.
Without doubt one of the greatest Turkish players of the recent years, and even through him not able to control his nerves for most amount of times during games, is being one of the respected players. Wherever he has played he had managed to move his team forward which also includes Basaksehirspor. Even through he has lost his speed which he was enjoying in younger ages, he is been very useful to the team providing his experience to his teammates. During signing ceremony, Emre has also stated that after ending his footballing career, which he plans to do next year he plans to stay at the team in role such as footbal director or at the coaching team. This news of course would allow Basaksehirspor also to build with their performance during last 2 seasons and fight again for title race next season.
As been mentioned, Emre Belozoglu is well respected player despite his some anti-sportmanship actions and among Emmanuel Adebayor their experience would be very useful for younger players at the squad.
Trabzonspor have started appointment negotiations with Tamer Tuna.
It is been reported that Trabzonspor has started negotiations with Goztepe ex-coach Tamer Tuna with an aim to appoint him as club's head coach and are close to make deal with him.
As been stated, at our blog yesterday Tamer Tuna would be willing to continue his career as head coach especially following his performance at Goztepe during last season and since it is unlikely for him to come back to Besiktas as assistant coach for Senol Gunes. Taking account that he has recieved from historically top 4 team from Turkey, this would be also raise towards right direction for him as he would try to provide his coaching knowledge at the team which has high aims. Taking account that Tamer Tuna also had footballing career at Trabzonspor would also make this movement if it would take place into more meaningful without doubt. As been stated, Tuna has shown his level of performance as head coach last season with Goztepe and has all reasons to carry on this performance at Trabzonspor if he would move there.
It also natural for Trabzonspor to want coach which can move them forward, and Tamer Tuna could be great candidate to provide performance which team is seeking for.
Emre Mor wants to join Galatasaray
It is reported at Turkish sports media that Emre Mor wants to join to Galatasaray during this summer transfer window with using main factor of Fatih Terim being head coach as Terim has shown trust to player during national team games.
It was known that Emre Mor following his high level performance at Euro 2016 didnt consider to join to Super League sides seeing that he is level of player of European football. However, with his willing to play best game and making decisions too fast has led him problematic experience at Borussia Dortmund and Celta Vigo as both sides didnt see chance to use him to maximum mainly to his behaviour. With losing hope at Europe he has started to focus towards Super League teams namely Galatasaray. It is known that Fatih Terim has shown strong trust into player during Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018 tournaments and there is chance he would continue to do if he joins to Galatasaray. Emre Mor is still an age to develop as in fact would be remembered in early years of Christiano Ronaldo he was shown similar behaviour, stating that Ronaldo was better player back then. Similar cases could be done with Emre Mor as if he would get into seriousness of game and be more organised and focussed he would be able to improve as player as there is potential.
Hence, if Emre Mor would come to Galatasaray it would be good news both for player and club as long as Fatih Terim stays as head coach as both sides would get into winning position if Emre Mor would listen to Terim.

What happened in Turkish football today? 24/05/2018
Ataturk Olympic Stadium would host Champions League final on 30th May 2020.
During general meeting of UEFA at Kiev, Ukraine prior to Champions League 2018 final, organisation has announced host cities of final games of its tournament for 2020. Among decisions, UEFA has announced that final game of Champions League 2019-20 season would be taken place in Istanbul on 30th May.
This decisions means that Istanbul would be hosting Champions League final once again after 15 years as it has hosted one of the most memorable finals of tournament between Liverpool and A.C Milan. This is also development as Turkey are among candidates of UEFA Euro 2024 and their show that their have strong trust towards Turkish Football Federation which would taken main role for its performance and are seeing that Istanbul did show good hosting of the tournament during 2005 season. Game meanwhile would be taken place at the renewal Ataturk Olympic Stadium which was having plan for renewal for its UEFA Euro 2024 bid. It is also crucial to note that Istanbul would also host next year Super Cup at Vodafone Arena which means that Istanbul would both start European season of 2019-20 and also end there.
Without doubt this development is very important for Istanbul in overall and also countries football specifically as stars from sport would once again come to this important city in Turkey.
Arbitration committee has reduced Arda Turan from 16 to 10 games.
Arbitation committee which is connected to TFF has announced that 16-game fine which was provided to Basaksehirspor player Arda Turan due of his actions during Super League 32nd week game against Sivasspor has been reduced to 10 games.
Even through it was heavily criticised of his actions during game when he has attacked physically and with words towards referee of the game there were talks that 16-game ban is to high. Our blog as remembered did find this decision reasonably. However, after some time arbitration committee has reduced this ban to 6 games and it does look like Basaksehirspor defence and possibly some connection with government has led for this decision to be revised. Thsi decision would still mean that Arda Turan would be missing 8 games in upcoming season but at least he would be able to play most part of the season when his previous fine would mean almost half of the season. This reduction to some extend could also reduce into effectiveness of his actions and might even show bad example for other players or youth seeing that those actions are tolerated and when are not arbitration would come and reduce such ban.
If here is the case that it was reduced due of his name than this blog seriously doesnt support this decision and lets hope that Arda Turan would learn valuable lesson still from this event.
Besiktas considers to appoint Tamer Tuna as Senol Gunes assistant coach once again.
It is reported at the Turkish sports media, that Besiktas are considering to offer Goztepe ex-coach Tamer Tuna a role of assistant coach for Senol Gunes with stating that when Gunes would be leaving one day, Tuna would take role of head coach.
It needs to be reminded that main reason that Tamer Tuna has left Besiktas in the end of the last season and has joined Goztepe was to try his role as head coach and it needs to be admitted that he has done good role with ending 6th place with his side. Taking account that Bursaspor and Trabzonspor are considering to appoint him at the main role, it would be interesting how Tuna would respond to this from Besiktas as it would mean that he would go behind his career path even through joining club would again help him to improve as coach. However, this blog does see chance to be very unlikely even through there is always chance for this to happen.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that Besiktas would consider to appoint assistant coach for Senol Gunes as it was seen one of the reasons for poor performance during this season even if Tamer Tuna would not consider to return to club.
