What happened in Turkish football today? 31.03.2016

Volkan Demirel is not sorry for his actions in game against Kazakhstan.

Fenerbahce player Volkan Demirel during his interview written to official monthly Fenerbahce magazine has stated an important messages regarding of him not being called to the Turkish National Team and has told to everyone to end this conversation.

First and foremost Volkan Demirel has stated that he is always feel ready to play for Turkish national team but doesnt feel it right to apologize to anyone as he had recieved lots of cursed words from fans. He stated that if he did play during Euro 2016 qualifier against Kazakhstan than it would be affecting his performance as he was angry and sad for hearing this words for fans. He added that everyone have can their own opinion, but he himself thinks he did right thing. He also underlined that he wants to play for Turkish national team but if he is not called he would respect this decision and would accept for media to do same thing and close this talks.

It is still big argument if he needs to be called as Volkan Babacan, he is alternative has done great job at last games of qualifier and at friendlies and plays an important role for Turkey being at Euro 2016. But Volkan Demirel is great goalkeeper and by watching generally at Turkish goalkeepers performance he should be at Turkish National Team in France, performance wise.

Galatasaray thinks to extend contract with Emre Colak for 3 years.

Galatasaray does seem to change its perspective regarding of the future of its player Emre Colak at the team. Colak was among the players who club wanted to sell or loan during upcoming summer transfer window but now there is talks at the team to extend contract with him for 3 years.

Emre Colak is in fact is a good player and would do lots of goods to Galatasaray but his level is below of players like Sneijder and Podolski and therefore he did stay as substitute lately. However, when he does play he provides great performance and could be great help for a team when he plays, probably factor has been recognised also by Galatasaray as it changed his opinion about him and his future at the club. If Galatasaray decided to extend it, than Colak is very likely to accept as it is club where he came from and is known to be strong Galatasaray supporter.

This extension, if happens, would once again show that it is important to give chance to its own players who came from academy.

Konyaspor doesnt want to change date and time of game against Fenerbahce.

Konyaspor has shown its protests towards Turkish Football Federation about possible changes of the dates of 28th week game against Fenerbahce, due of postponed 26th game between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray on 13th April.

Original date for Konyaspor and Fenerbahce is scheduled to be 10th April at 19:00, and the team states that it wants to keep date as it would affect to its opponents of Eskisehirspor and their will not accept date of change for that team. Usually, this issues doesnt been served in such manner, however this stubborness by Konyaspor might bring some problems for TFF as Fenerbahce would not like play  games at such short period of time between two games. Very likely TFF will rather change date against Konyaspor will and would demand its own time in same manner as it set date for postponed game on 13th April rather than 28th April which was requested by Galatasaray.

Konyaspor meanwhile should be more understandable realising that this is unplanned event and should not release too much issues, which could built up closer to the date of the game.
