What happened in Turkish football today? 14.04.2016

Fenerbahce has serious problems at the field and at changing rooms

Fenerbahce has lost 2 points at the game against Galatasaray which didnt provide any danger to the 2nd placed team at the league during 26th week Super League postponed game. Among the poor peformance of the team in last 3 weeks, there seems to be big problems inside the club also.

Prior to the game it was announced by Fenerbahce that team player Caner Erkin was taken away from 18-squad team due of his reaction of not being at the starting 11 at the game against Galatasaray. He had used disrespectful comments towards head coach Vitor Pereira. Another point which was observed is heated argument between Gokhan Gonul and Diego Rybas after Diego has wasted good attacking position in last minutes of the game. In fact, whole team during the game has ended high number of 100% chances during the game and hence shown that the problem of attack between team is getting stronger.Previously, it was argued at our blog that as long as teams win, lack of goals is not big problem however right now it doesnt even manage to score when it does find attacks and opposition allow them.

As been stated yesterday, league title is not lost but it gets harder for the Fenerbahce with hoping that Besiktas would lose a game and have a draw in last 6 games and also needs to score themselves and win all 6 games.

Galatasaray is satisfied with a draw against its main rivals.

After the game both Galatasaray head coach Jan Olde Riekering and its player Lukas Podolski has stated that draw is not bad result for them which alone shows into poor performance of the team right now and that it doesnt believe themselves at providing successful results.

Fenerbahce has always been team which Galatasaray wanted to win in the history of professional Turkish football so being satisfied with a draw, which doesnt provide any advantage to them, just shows how drastic situation is. It is clear now that Galatasaray has left Super League performance and now fully focussed to the Turkish Cup, but poor performance at league could transform into cup also. Even through Galatasaray states it aims to get Europa League spot, it doesnt play like it actually wants to get it with possibly 1-year ban has affected psychologically to the whole team.

In this last 6 weeks, every team which will meet against Galatasaray, and this weekend is Antalyaspor, will not be scared of Galatasaray and would only aim for a win and probably will not be satisfied with draw like Galatasaray did yesterday.

Turkish Football Federation should go to previous scheduling.

Following yesterday statement from Club's Union about its unhappiness of changed and revised Super League and Turkish Cup schedule, number of the clubs has made statements stating that their support this call from Clubs Union CEO Goksel Gumusdag.

Surely, Turkish Football Federation needs to take this into account and as representative of Turkish football should take this into complaint into the action with possible going to previous planning of the league. It is quite natural for clubs to make this reaction and if TFF didnt foresee this reaction that it becomes clear into how badly Turkish federation is run. In fact, with Turkish football having polemics between each other lots of times it is foolish by Turkish Football Federation to start out of nowhere. Whatever TFF decides about this issue it needs to make normal planning prior to the season from now on.

Even through Turkish National Team doesnt win from original scheduling, TFF should go back to old one as it damages the quality of last weeks game which are crucial at the final positioning of the league.
