What happened in Turkish football today? 05.03.2016

Besiktas has provided one of the least active games against Kasimpasa.

After Fenerbahce has drawn with Osmanlispor on Sunday, it was seen that Besiktas is in more advantegous situation however unexpected loss to Kasimpasa with 2:1 scoreline has once again moved advantage to Fenerbahce, as if Fenerbahce would make 8 out of 8 it would become champions with more goals scored against Besiktas.

Besiktas has provided one of the games this season where it was least effective at the attack area and had big trouble at creating chances while allowing Kasimpasa to create high number of chances. In fact, the game could have ended with 4:1 scoreline to Kasimpasa. One of the reasons of this poor performance could be too much concentration towards opening of the Vodafone Arena which would happen next Monday at the game against Bursaspor. Either it was that or not, one thing was certain that Besiktas players focus was not into game as in normal conditions it would have played differently agaisnt Kasimpasa. Also, Besiktas didnt manage to win Kasimpasa during this season, as 1st half game at the season has ended with 3:3 scoreline.

Besiktas now needs to win 7 out of 7 at the league with starting at its new stadium home game against Bursaspor, despite of having very strong advantage due of atmosphere at the game, Bursaspor is tough team and can provide suprising result on the night.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce game will take place on 13th April at 19:30.

It was announced today that Super League 26th week postponed game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce will start at 19:30 on 13th April due of security reasons. Istanbul mayorship wanted to start game at earlier time, around 17:00 but due of complaint of it being too early by Galatasaray administrators at weekday it has moved to 19:30.

There are talks that this was decided to security reasons and hence its reason it will not start at 20:00 which was provided by Galatasaray administrators. But another reason could be fact that Champions League quarter-finals 2nd leg games will take place on same day and it is known that league games cant take place at same time as those games according to UEFA. In either way, it was known that security and TFF didnt look forward to play game at the "primetime" , the set time only downside is possible high traffic at arleady congested area which could affect for fans to come to game at the kick-off time otherwise its good time as sun will be setting down slowly.

Prior to game for now, its important to provide strong security as terrorists might see previous event as failed and  security should provide everything to do to protect fans and players at the evening.

It is hard for Trabzonspor to end season in perfect record. 

Trabzonspor spokesman Asim Oren has stated that his team will aim for Europa League and would aim to win all of the 7 games left at this season. This could be seen as big aim taking account how teams is actually performing lately.

Trabzonspor could have won last 2 games at the league which could be seen as start of the perfect end of the season, however in game wise its not providing impressive performance. It is important for a team not to set its aims referring to scores as it could recieve unexpected loss of points in upcoming weeks. By looking at the intense Europa League fight at the league, at least for now, Trabzonspor is being outsider and it is unluckily it will get that spot if it manages to get 7 out of 7. Its good to set strong impossible aims but it is crucial not to believe to strong to it as it would lead only dissapointment and loss of morale.

Trabzonspor needs to stay realistic about its performance and see how to improve the way it plays rather than putting targets which are difficult to achieve.

- Basaksehrispor were referred for not following guidelines in game against Mersin IdmanYurdu.

- Galatasaray administrator Alper Narman: Postponed game against Fenerbahce would start at 19:30 due of security reasons.

- Fenerbahce administrator Metin Dogan: We as club didnt ask for any time in game against Galatasaray.We have no problem with 19:30 kick-off

- Eskisehirspor player Emre Gural has terminated contract from team as his club didnt pay his salary after 1 month he complained to TFF.

- Eskisehirspor: Due of economical conditions we wanted to pay Emre Gural with installments and let him leave in summer. But he didnt agree.We are as club would fight to stay at Super League as we did against Galatasaray.

- Galatasaray are interested to transfer Emre Gural who has left Eskisehirspor.

Why would player terminate contract with 7 weeks to go at league. What he gonna do after that?People criticise about day-offs of training. I can give as much as I want.
