What happened in Turkish football today? 30/04/2022

Trabzonspor has become Super League champions after 38 years.

Trabzonspor has become Super League champions of 2021-22 season with drawing against Antalyaspor with 2:2 scoreline and winning title first time since 1984, as it has been pretty stressful 2nd half.

With all fairness it needs to be stated that Trabzonspor did get well deserved title as it has dominated whole season in the Super League and got such big advantage that it could afford to lose some points during previous games. It needs to be started that Trabzonspor did have started in right mood with showing confident attacking game and has found an early goal with Andreus Cornelius and has shown some organised game during 1st half. However, it needs to be mentioned that Antalyaspor did provide some stressful moments to Trabzonspor during 2nd half which it needs to be admitted did provide some worrying moments to Trabzonspor as it looked pretty panic mood. Despite of that, Ugurcan Cakir save on penalty save has been turning point without doubt and has shown some strong confidence to whole team. Trabzonspor should be noted did make task a bit difficult on 2nd half without providing intense defence and letting opponent to get some chances but noone would be remember this as club would be celebrating its title which it got after 38 years.

Meanwhile, Antalyaspor needs to deserve praise during today's game especially during 2nd half with providing strong attacking and willing game making it clear they would not let Trabzonspor get easy win as side aims and still continues to aim for Conference League spot.

Trabzonspor has got historical win after winning last 38 years ago and when looking in overall has got well-deserved title with 3 weeks left on the season.

Fenerbahce are focussed now to get 2nd spot in the league.

Fenerbahce continues its fight for 2nd spot as it has managed to win Gaziantep with 3:2 scoreline and continues showing strong performance in the league without losing for 11 games.

As we are entering to the last 3 weeks, Fenerbahce has set its an eye for runners-up position which means Champions League qualifiers and hence continues showing highly focussed attacking game. Even through Fenerbahce possibly didnt dominate game for 90 minutes and looked bit passive between 3:1 and 2:1 scorelines, it did look to be side in the form and being focussed to get win in the end of the game. Gaziantep also it needs to be mentioned did provide some pressure to Gaziantep even through of poor start and conceding goal on 5th minute. One thing is certain Fenerbahce is being highly concentrated and has all reasons to get 3 out of 3 including derby game next week against Besiktas.

Fenerbahce in this stage is being with most form and are focussed now to get 3 out of 3 and finish league at the runners up spot for sure.

Valerien Ismael needs to change tactical game.

Besiktas would be playing against Kayserispor during Super League 35th week as it aims to keep its small chances for top 4 position and Conference League arrive and also get motivation prior to Fenerbahce game.

Even through Valerien Ismael did have good start to the Besiktas reign with drawing against Trabzonspor and win against Alanyaspor, it had drop of performance and would be focussing right now to get once again into winning mood. Besiktas still needs to change some tactics as Valerien Ismael 3-5-3 tactical game even through being good tactical game, it could provide some issues in the Super League. Hence, Besiktas would be looking to providing some more creative game in the attack. Kayserispor is being relaxed as they dont have any aims for rest of the season which could turn into advantage for them.

Besiktas hence would be coming out as favourite but it does need to change some tactical game for this game.
