What happened in Turkish football today? 24/05/2022

Fatih Karagumruk has extended contract with Emiliano Viviano

Fatih Karagumruk has extended contract with its player Emiliano Viviano who without doubt did provide strong performance at the goalkeeping and has played an important role for side to end at top half of the table.

Among his performance at the club and becoming one of the key players, it has also been seen that he has been loyal to the side and hence it should not be seen as big surprise for him to be staying in the club. Another crucial factor which needs to be noted that with Fatih Karagumruk head coach being one of the best goalkeepers in recent years in Turkey, Volkan Demirel does show that he is being glad with Viviano performance and believes that he could continue providing strong goalkeeping performance in upcoming future. Without doubt, with transfer window not being right now clubs would focus into keeping its best players whose contracts are over.

Fatih Karagumruk it needs to be noted that does have good squad but needs some additions to fight even more for European spots next season.

David Alleray has been appointed as Turkish Referee System advisor.

TFF has appointed England well-known ex referee David Alleray as Turkish Referee System advisor as he has arleady identified some issues with Turkish referees to TFF.

David Alleray as one of his steps in his new position with report has stated some important issues at the referee issues stating that referees do feel under pressure especially during derby games and has stated that some improvement needs to be done. Turkish referee, among some scandalous decision, did have pretty unsuccessful season so it should not be seen as surprise for Alleray to identify lots of issues in the Turkish referee which led for not single referee at World Cup 2022 list. It is now important to identify reasons for such downsides and find solution for TFF.

David Alleray is being experienced in referee area without doubt and hopefully TFF would use his service at maximum to improve referee level.

Ali Koc keeps door open for Ismail Kartal coach role for next season.

Fenerbahce CEO Ali Koc during interview at Turkish football show on TV has stated that Ismail Kartal is still being head coach candidate for next season among Jorge Jesus.

During interview, one of the pundits, with who Ali Koc had verbally arguments due of ongoing criticism of that pundit in the past towards Fenerbahce, has responded to that pundit comment "For me, Ismail Kartal looks to be over"as "How you know? We have two options: Jorge Jesus and Ismail Kartal". With adding that he would announce decision next week,he did left open door to Ismail Kartal even through he did say farewell style speech following Yeni Malatyaspor game on weekend. Therefore, it does look like Ali Koc would go through some factors before making decision with head coach.

Stating that, it does look like Jorge Jesus is being closest and Ismail Kartal fate depends if clubs makes deal with Jesus or not.
