What happened in Turkish football today? 11/05/2022

Sivasspor gets to final game at Turkish Cup thanks to Hakan Arslan goal

Sivasspor reaches to Turkish Cup final where it going to meet with Kayserispor, as it has drawn with Alanyaspor during 2nd leg game with 1:1 scoreline and gets to final with an aggregate of 3:2.

It needs to be stated that Sivasspor didnt provide its best performance during whole season especially in attack when looking at the game at overall. Main focus for Sivasspor during today's game has been to keep its leadership which is being risky tactical game when you have 1:0 advantage only and such tactics almost led for the game to go to extra-time as Diedhou has scored on 78th minute and has continued to provide an attacking game. Still, good counter-attack from Sivasspor and goal from Hakan Arslan has led for the side and without doubt such goal has got them into final game. It needs to be mentioned that Sivasspor did provide better performance compare to opponents during 1st leg so when looking in overall it could be mentioned Sivasspor did deserve to get to final.

Alanyaspor on their part did look to be more concentrated and more agressively as it needed to be to some extend as thei were behind and has been side which did look for moments. However, it does need to be mentioned that even through its been side which create more chances, it still been looked pretty passive and let Sivasspor to control game. Hence, it could be mentioned that it did find goal pretty late and start showing better game both when it did score and also when it did conceded. So to some extend, providing fast and aggressive game too late possibly did cost them to get to the final. Alanyaspor still has opportunity to get to Conference League if it manages to get 4th spot.

Sivasspor hence gets into final game at the Turkish Cup with beating Kayserispor where it would be meeting with Kayserispor on 26th May.

Kayserispor reached to final with showing strong attitude against Trabzonspor.

Kayserispor has shown very positive and aggressive game against Super League champions Trabzonspor during Turkish Cup semi-final 2nd leg game which it has won with 4:2 scoreline, making an aggregate 4:3.

Following conceded goal on 3rd minute from penalty scored by Anthony Nwakaeme, Kayserispor didnt show any signs of giving up as it got behind opponent with goal difference to 2:0 and has shown strong attitude to the opponent. But it needs to be noted that subsitute of Emrah Bassan in start of 2nd half has been very effective as he did find 2 goals at the game where Kayserispor did create opportunities and has won game with finding goal in the end of the game which brought them ticket to the Turkish Cup final. Without doubt, Kayserispor would come to the Turkish Cup final with stronger confidence and motivation as it beat Fenerbahce, Besiktas and now Trabzonzpor in the competition.

Kayserispor did show strong and concentrated attitude towards game and has arleady marked its performance in this season competition.

Trabzonspor were not mentally focussed to Kayserispor game

Trabzonspor meanwhile did look side which been mentally relaxed and calm after getting league title and did show much issues to Trabzonspor despite of getting goal which it needed in beginning of the game.

Trabzonspor did look to be passive for 90 minutes both due of smart and strong game from Kayserispor which prevented to get into the game but also Trabzonspor very far from performance which we saw them on them highest times during season. Not winning domestic title for 38 years could provide mental relaxation to the club and that we saw and we likely to see from side similar performance during last 2 games in the season.

Trabzonspor did aim for double during this season but it can only blame themselves and now side can focus into how making side stronger for next season.
