What happened in Turkish football today? 28/02/2022

Fenerbahce got motivational boost with win against Kasimpasa.

Fenerbahce has got an important win against Kasimpasa with 2:1 scoreline as Atilla Szalai has scored winning goal at 87th minute which is being crucial win for Conference League spot which it did get to 4th spot and without doubt would provide some motivation for rest of the season.

With Fenerbahce being out both from Turkish Cup and Conference League earlier this month and huge point difference from leaders Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce did get 3rd win back-to-back and also would now be focussing into top 4. However, it still needs to be noted that Fenerbahce did provide very good performance as it provided slow tempo game and didnt provide strong creativity but still there were players who provided good performance. In fact, without there were willingness from many players and did come with mind of winning game and such ineffective games in some moments of the game did come from recent poor performances of continuation but this result and being 3 points behind from Konyaspor who are being at 2nd spot, would provide crucial motivation for rest of the season. Without doubt, key has been for Atilla Szalai good shot showing confidence as an attacker at shot.

Kasimpasa meanwhile, also provided strong confident game especially during for first 20 minutes in the 2nd half and without doubt with organising game both in defence and attack did provide tough game for Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce hence did get very important 3 points and now could focus into getting European spot at Champions League or worst at Conference League.

Galatasaray got wins back-to-back beating Rizespor

Galatasaray got an important win against Rizespor with same result as it did last week against Goztepe with 4:2 scoreline as game storyline to some extend has been similar to each other.

Its been important for Galatasaray to get 2 wins back-to-back and get further from relegation zone as it provided lots of pressure to the side without doubt but when coming to performance it still not being in the level which would been expected from them during this season. Meanwhile, it needs to be mentioned that once again there were number of questionable decision from referee with foul from Ryan Babel towards Rizespor player Gedson Fernandes standing out which without doubt needed to be given right decision but overall it is hard to state that referee did show bad performance as been argued by Rizespor. Therefore, it does look like Galatasaray start getting crucial points which would at least let them not to be having fear of being relegated.

Galatasaray did win previous last 2 games and did get motivational boost now it needs to focus how it could end season at high note.

Trabzonspor is taking Turkish Cup seriously and would play according to that.

With Super League title being more or less in the hands for Trabzonspor it would be now focussed without doubt to also get Turkish Cup as it would be meeting with Antalyaspor.

With taking account that Trabzonspor has set an eye for double during this season and also not very good performance of 2nd squad in the previous Turkish Cup it could be accepted for Abdullah Avci to come out with more closer to ideal starting 11 squad with taking account that Antalyaspor certainly would be differently motivated to this game with being finalist of last season and provide much more brave attacking game as it is being one-game meeting. Trabzonspor however likely would privide similar focus as been mentioned above and would show aggressive attacking game to Antalyaspor.

Trabzonspor are being favourites for sure but it would be tough game for them without doubt but Antalyaspor would focus to provide some issues to them.
