What happened in Turkish football today? 20/04/2021

Besiktas lost important 2 points to Sivasspor.

Besiktas continues losing points on recent weeks, this time goaless draw against Sivasspor with reducing its point advantage from Fenerbahce to 3 points with reducing its confident leadership to only 1 win and draw advantage with 6 games left until this season.

Besiktas it needs to be mentioned didnt provide high tempo during whole game due of having some absences and also Sivasspor without doubt did been focussing into defensive game whose main aim been prevent for Besiktas to create high amount of opportunities. Another factor without doubt been for Vincent Aboubakar not being entirely ready for this game which been observed for him to be showing low tempo with lack of getting into positions which been used from side prior to his injury and even more importantly and sadly for side bene getting injured once again which is likely been case for him to play game before being entirely ready. In other words, Sivasspor which did win 12 games prior to this game would not been big surprise and in fact would be highly expected, but worrying image been for side showing ineffecitve game in such crucial weeks for them.

Sivasspor it needs to be noted that did create some very good opportunities which could bring win for them in this game but in overall it did focus into providing strong defence which it managed to do so and rised its undefeated streak to 13 weeks.

Besiktas continues losing points during recent weeks and did lose its strong advantage and now would focussed to turn around this in game against Kayserispor if it doesnt want to risk its title even more.

Galatasaray would get win if it plays like it did against Goztepe.

Galatasaray would be seeking to continue its confident and strong performance which it shown during previous game as it would be playing against Trabzonspor which drawn for 4 weeks.

Even through Galatasaray does show some decline in recent weeks, it did provide very strong and confident game against Goztepe with getting full control of game with hat-trick from Kerem Akturkoglu and criticism from Mustafa Cengiz. Without doubt, with Trabzonspor not providing good game in those weeks, Galatasaray would be able to get confident win if it shows similar game which it did last week. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see how Akturkoglu would be performing against side which is considering among top clubs in this league regardless they position. Still, Galatasaray would be coming as favourite due of having extra motivation for title race.

Galatasaray did regain confidence from Goztepe among Besiktas losing points and would come to Trabzonspor with good mood and confidence without doubt.

Trabzonspor only chance is extra focus for Galatasaray game.

On other hand, Trabzonspor looks to be disoriented from getting further from title race with making their condition almost to impossible with getting draws for 3 weeks.

Without doubt mentally Trabzonspor did come out to last 4 games with focus to win but in this game when looking at position of both sides Trabzonspor could be saying not to draw but in same time Trabzonspor, being historically top club, does get extra motivated for big games and hence would likely to provide strong game with high focus to defence and attack and such mindset if would be achieved could be key not to lose to game at least and even have good possibility to win game. Therefore, it would be interesting to see how side would be mentally focussed to game.

Trabzonspor would likely provide better game against Galatasaray but recent results for side could provide some pressure in this game.
