What happened in Turkish football today? 01/04/2021

Turkey ends 3-game World Cup as leaders but Latvia draw did dissapoint.

Turkish National Team has completed World Cup 2022 qualifiers 3-game period as leaders in the group with 7 points, with getting very impressive wins against Holland and Norway but did get partly unexpected, partly expected draw from Latvia.

If looking at Turkey performance with excluding Latvia game it should be noted that  side did show pretty strong impressive performance with strong organised game with having so many players in the top league making it clear that side does have European mentality thanks to this. However, it did get loss of 2 points against its problematic opponent as it did show relaxation after 3:1 scoreline which led for side to lose again against weaker opponent. Taking account that Latvia is being 2nd weakest side in the group, this loss of 2 points could provide some issues for direct entry to World Cup as both Holland and Norway are expected to get 6 points from Latvia.

Still, this overall performance does provide strong hope for Euro 2020 this summer especially taking account that it does show strong confident game against strong sides which would compete at Euro.

Vincent Aboubakar will not play for 1-4 weeks due of injury.

Besiktas player Vincent Aboubakar did return to his side with injury which he got from international duty and will not be playing for 1-4 weeks.

As we are entering to crucial weeks in this season with Besiktas being leaders and getting closer to its league title, this news would be seen as dissapointment as he did play one of the key issues with finding high amount of goals and showing strong performance. Even through we do keep discussing about strong alternative squad of Besiktas, Aboubakar effectiveness in this season could have some effect. Without doubt, Besiktas would be hoping for fast recovery of the play but its clear for him to miss Kasimpasa game.

Role hence of other forward especially Cyle Larin would be even more but with Larin also having good strong would keep side with optimism.

Taylan Antalyali and Emre Kilinc got positive Covid19 result

Galatasaray player Taylan Antalyali has returned to his side from Turkish National Team with positive Covid19 case which without doubt would provide worry to Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim.

Even through Terim didnt use player frequently in recent weeks despite of good performance in beginning of it, with having  injuries of Marcao and Cristian Luyindama having card, did lead him to be planning to start with him but this Covid19 case did affect him negatively. It needs to be noted that some sides been affected from this national break due of Covid19 case and Galatasaray among also got Emre Kilinc with this virus when joining back to side.

Our page wishes fast recovery for both players and every other players who been affected from this virus during this national team break.
