What happened in Turkish football today? 08/01/2021

Fenerbahce did provide right tactic against Alanyaspor.

Fenerbahce has got very important win against Alanyaspor during Super League 17th week game even through it did provide mainly tactical game with letting opponents to control ball but been more effective with its opportunities.

Even through some parts of people did provide some criticism with providing defensive tactical game against opponent which been above them prior to game, it needs to be noted that Fenerbahce tactic did work and regardless how much some supporters and pundits demand for watchable game, at the end of the day side with highest points gets title. With Alanyaspor does focus into providing attacking game and good at counterattacks, it would need to be sometimes leading for side which is favourite and "bigger" do show respect to opponent to get result. This tactic did work as Fenerbahce got win thanks to the great goals from Sinan Gumus and Dimitrios Petkas two great goals and in overall despite of possession stats, Fenerbahce been side which did create much more effective and strong attacks comparing to opponents.

Hence, Fenerbahce provided patient tactical game and this tactic worked well as it rose to 2nd place with passing Alanyaspor in the table.

Genclerbirligi expects to give problems to Galatasaray

Galatasaray would be resuming its season with Genclerbirligi, as it would be aiming to stop its winningless period of 2 games but it does meet with struggling but same time high motivated opponent.

Even through Genclerbirligi is way below its opponent on standing when coming to form Ankara is at much better condition as it started getting good result with good performance while Galatasaray has drawn one game and lost last week. It is true hence Galatasaray are coming as strong favourites but when coming to motivation there is huge factors with also some absences being in the club. Positive factor for Galatasaray would be return of Fatih Terim as head coach after ban which would be certainly provided rightfully motivational boost to side and possibly would help side to be much more focussed into this game with him being on side as he has direct impact to players performance. Genclerbirligi on their part would be seeing this opportunity of getting good result with recent good results it gained to use this confidence effectively.

Galatasaray are favourites but Genclerbirligi for sure would provide strong fighting performance against them.

Konyaspor transfers Zymer Bytigi for 2.5 years

Konyaspor player has strengthened its squad with signing Viking player Zymer Bytigi, whose is due of his young age does provide lots of optimism for his future career especially for Konyaspor.

This blog for several years did mention that its been important for Turkish clubs to transfer potential players where it would be aiming to prove themselves and see this country as possible openning doors to bigger clubs for future. Bytigi is among this players and if he would be providing such performance which is been expected from him, it would be aiding both to club performance and aims and without doubt his personnal aims. Therefore, this transfer would provide necesarrily strengtening for side for upcoming rest of the season and additional 2 years at club.

Therefore, this been very good transfer for Konyaspor as both parties could assist themselves with aims which both of them set to each other.
