What happened in Turkish football today? 09/01/2021

Galatasaray got great result with dominating game against Genclerbirligi.

Galatasaray got confident win again against Genclerbirligi with 6:0 scoreline with Younes Belhanda getting his 1st hat-trick in his career in Turkey as side has dominated game from start to an end using advantage of inexperience of opposition goalkeeper.

It needs to be noted in such games its most important to find an early goal to get full control of the game as Genclerbirligi could be focussed to game with 0:0 scoreline, and that goal did come on 26th second becoming earliest goal of this season. Meanwhile, role of Fatih Terim coming into the field after 4-game ban without doubt does show his important role at his club especially when it did get poor results from recent weeks. Meanwhile, it needs to be noted that Younes Belhanda which does tend to be criticised pretty actively in recent periods did provide very good performance without doubt does provide very good game if he is in right-mood of the side. Being highly motivated for this game and losing demotivating opponent with early goal did provide strong advantage for them and would now be looking forward for upcoming weeks with regaining leadership in table at the end of 1st day of this weeks games.

Genclerbirligi with conceding goal from 26th second did provide high level damage with failing to get concentrated and focus to turn around games hasnt been done. Taking account that side did show good performance it needs to forget this game and focus this game.

This game would provided Galatasaray to get confidence and motivation for upcoming games especially for Besiktas which it didnt need without doubt for next week.

Both Besiktas and Hatayspor are showing attacking positive game.

Besiktas would be aiming to carry on its top level performance which it shows in last 5 games without conceding goal but it would be playing one of the most in-form sides in this league Hatayspor which does provide positive football.

Without doubt both Besiktas and Hatayspor would be coming out in good form and confidence against each other carrying on providing strong performance which does also bring good results. Without doubt, with recent form and also aiming for league title, Hatayspor would be side to provide respect and cautious football but it would be important for them not to show too much respect as it could harm them with getting too behind and Besiktas finding some opportunities. Besiktas meanwhile would be aiming to carry on its strong confident performance against their opponents with moving its motivation and confidence it got especially from 6:0 win against Rizespor at midweek. This is expecting to be good game with high number opportunities possibly.

Besiktas are coming out as favourites but it would be playing against side which does have very high motivation and confidence.

Mehmet Buyukeksi and Marius Sumudica cant agree with contract extension salary

One of the most discussed topics right now at Turkish football community is being extension contract between Gaziantep and its head coach Marius Sumudica in the sense of providing him rise or not.

Even through until now Gaziantep CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi did provide strong support with continuing with working with coach Marius Sumudica, even assisting his willingness to get Turkish citizenship right now there seems to be misunderstanding regarding his extension which would be given in the end of the season. All of this has been risen with Sumudica stating at Romanian media that he recieved high amount of salary offer and he does want to stay with his current club but those offers are being pretty impressive. Hence, providing pressure to Gaziantep to raise his salary which is different situation for club due of economical situation which all clubs in Turkey is going through mainly due of Covid19. Right now, this talks tends to be very heated condition and could be ending with end of contract.

Both sides are making strong statements to each other and even through giving signs of wanting to continue working together in same time willing for extension to happen on their own terms, blaming others to slowing down making deal.
