What happened in Turkish football today? 10/01/2021

Hatayspor responded with its attacking game against Besiktas

Turkish Super League 18th week game between Hatayspor and Besiktas has been ended with 2:2 scoreline which been played at high tempo of the game especially during 1st half where all of the goals did come from.

Taking account recent form of Hatayspor especially of Boupendza playing high level and scoring goals in last 2 weeks did bring expectance for this game to be very difficult as club is providing more brave and confident performance compare to start of season. Taking account that Besiktas in difficult schedule of Besiktas it did provide high tempo game, it did have some trouble from such high level tempo especially when meeting side which is also likes to play tempo of the game. However, it needs to be admitted that Besiktas did provide some good reaction to such opponent especially been focussed into attack finding good goals from Vincent Aboubakar great goal on 6th minute, scoring his first goal since saddened death of his mother which he dedicated to her. Rachid Ghezal once again his importance to squad with providing 2 assists which did bring scoreline hence becoming most important assist player not only to his side but whole league.

Hatayspor on their part did provide very good performance showing confident attacking game not showing any signs of being scared of its opponents with Boupendza scoring another 2 goals which helped to become most goalscorer right now in the league.

Besiktas didnt show dominance as it did in last games but due of difficult calendar and style of play of opponent it wasnt big surprise but does raise question how its ready for Galatasaray game.

Galatasaray didnt have much issues against Genclerbirligi.

Galatasaray got confident win against Genclebirligi with 6:0 scoreline at the game where Istanbul side did control from beginning to an end where it started with goal from Diagne at 27th minute which played direct role for such confident win.

It was pretty curious and interesting to see how Galatasaray would be responding from previous 2 games where it has lost game and with Fatih Terim returning back after 4-game ban and did show he does have direct role with his presence even through Genclerbirligi did provide pretty poor performance with goalkeeper, who did play his 1st league game, didnt manage to get through pressure but still doesnt deserve that much criticism with this being his night. Coming back to Galatasaray its been also important to note hat-trick of Younes Belhanda scoring hat-trick within 15 minutes hence once again showing that he could be showing great performance when he is at highest focus to the game.

Therefore, side did get good confident against mediocre side and did gain right motivation for next week derby game against Besiktas.

Fenerbahce would be favourite against Erzurumspor despite of weather conditions.

Fenerbahce will be resuming Super League journey, with one of the most difficult winter away games against Erzurumspor as it is one of the coldest spots in Turkey where most clubs do struggle in this period of the year.

Regardless of weather condition, Fenerbahce would be coming out as confident favourites due of fact that foremost by itself is showing some pretty result in recent weeks especially against Alanyaspor while Erzurumspor is side which been struggling currently located at the bottom of the table with having pretty low morale at club right now as it is known therefore Fenerbahce would be aiming to show top game and to regain 2nd spot in the table. Fenerbahce meanwhile due of level of opposition would be focussing to show much more faster tempo game with creating some opportunities with possibly finding an early goal which could be key for this game. Erzurumspor would be seeing this game as opportunity to stop their poor recent results but it does look to be tough for them for sure.

Fenerbahce are coming out as favourite and likely to show game according to that for 90 minutes.
