Besiktas got to quarter final with beating Rizespor through minumum scoreline
Besiktas has got to quarter-final thanks to Cyle Larin header on 85th minute from corner kick in the game where both sides did provide limited amount of position and with very slow tempo.
Besiktas which did show fast tempo on recent weeks which been converted to high amount of goals, which includes 6:0 win to Rizespor last week in the Super League, however side did provide very slow tempo without much opportunities which could be mainly of reason of coming to the field mainly with players who didnt get lots of playing time during this season or any during this game and hence could get some playing time in tough game with getting experience without getting too much damage. Meanwhile, it also needs to be mentioned that mentally and tactically whole side focus has been towards Galatasaray derby game but with Larin finding goal within 90 minutes, in the game which has almost been going to extra time did put side into advantage to derby game as their opponent played on previous night extra time and did provide much more effort towards them. Still, Besiktas did get to next stage with minumum game with alternative squad which would be satisfying tp them for sure.
Rizespor on their part did learn from mistakes from 6:0 loss to opponent providing much more compact performance not making same defensive mistakes but it did provide pretty low level attacking game.
Besiktas as been noted did get to next stage of the Turkish Cup without showing too much effort in the end of the game without using too much effort prior to derby.
Galatasaray did get to quarter-final but did use some effort during game.
Galatasaray has reached to Turkish Cup quarter-final stage with beating Yeni Malatyaspor with winning penalties with 7:6 scoreline following 120 minutes which ended with 1:1 scoreline, where Galatasaray didnt provide high level tempo game.
In fact, Galatasaray only has managed to get to next stage or more precise to penalties thanks to last minute goal of the Cristian Luyindama as side was losing from mistake from its goalkeeper Fatih Ozturk which did almost cost game to them. It needs to be mentioned in general, tempo of the game has been pretty slow which could be described from Galatasaray viewpoint due of Besiktas derby game but it needs to be noted that finding early goal could be good option for them which their didnt follow mostly focussing into low chances game without getting too much tempo which did suit its opponents. One of the key players has been meanwhile Fatih Ozturk who conceded simple goal but became hero of the penalties with saving 2 penalties with one of them being key for quarter-final. Hence, Galatasaray without great game and good opponent would be focussing to turn around this tie.
Therefore, Galatasaray in difficult manner did get to next round and would be motivated for Besiktas game but did use pretty effort during game.
Fenerbahce will aim to continue its good form at Turkish Cup.
Fenerbahce would be continuing its Turkish Cup journey as it going to meet with Kasimpasa at last 16 stage as it did get confident win only recently at the Super League and would be aiming to carry on same mood.
Fenerbahce would be coming as favourite but it would be expected to be much more challenging game as it would be likely to come out with alternative starting 11 and also Kasimpasa being more motivated for this game very likely. However, Fenerbahce did get 4 wins from same amount of game and hence did get win behind its back and would be without doubt aiming to carry on this way with players who are not regular in starting 11 will have opportunity to prove themselves to Erol Bulut as their are players which could play regularly in other club in Turkey. Kasimpasa on their part would be focussing to show good game with aiming to payback for poor result in league.
Fenerbahce hence are favourites but it could turn around to be tough game for them very likely.
