What happened in Turkish football today? 01/01/2020

Fenerbahce did have pretty dissapointing 2019.

Even through Fenerbahce is currently only 6 points behind leaders Sivasspor and hence are at title race, it needs to be noted that team would be seen among main dissapointments of 2019 due of previous season performance and still not perfect game in this season.

Year 2019 for Fenerbahce has been described for sure with Ersun Yanal being club head coach and his saying for making team which would be dominating in this league and get league title. But among few games where it has shown great performance, especially at home ground, it is still pretty far from this aim. Still it needs to be noted that compare last season is still providing better performance and did have good summer transfer window but still its not showing that performance so far which is expected from club workers and supporters, and still didnt get into level which was promised from Ali Koc when he became CEO. Still, it needs in all fairness stated that Fenerbahce did show some big improvement when comparing with January and December for sure.

Fenerbahce is been included as dissapointment but with right direction and some successful transfers in mid-season break it could end season with title.

Besiktas has shown performance below its level whole year

Even through Besiktas could not been compared to Fenerbahce, as it did show more positive results its still can see at dissapointing as apart of 5-6 weeks period this season, it did provide performance way below their calibre in 2019.

It did start 2019 among title contenters of past season, but with Senol Gunes and national team crises it did lose some important points which costed them league title and even through it did enter to last weeks with again hope, it didnt get one with Galatasaray winning games in last weeks. With appointment of Abdullah Avci, especially during start of the season and Europa League it did provide very poor performance raising questions if it would be in similar case as Fenerbahce, but due of unstable season it did gain some points for getting to title race. Still, despite of some few games it still didnt show game which was highly expected from them and it does look that it would need to focus into improvement of the side by Abdullah Avci during mid-season break and also with some of the transfers during this period.

Still, Besiktas looks to be going into direction by each week and getting closer to level which Abdullah Avci likes to see from his side and hence being strong title contenders.

Bursaspor did dissapoint its fans in 2019.

Even through all teams which been relegated from top league during past season could be seen as dissapointing of 2019, one team does standout which is being Bursaspor as it became champions in 2009-10 season and does have good players.

Bursaspor due of winning its league title 9 seasons ago it was expected for a team to provide high level performance with having aims to get into European competitions and surely for team not to be relegated at the end of the season, and being relegated from Super League will not be acceptable for this side at all without doubt would be full failure. But it needs to be noted of course that side has been having some economical issues which did provide negative impact to squad and motivation with providing very poor performance. Our page doesnt provide focus into 1st league but it needs to be noted that Bursaspor quite naturally did focus into fighting to get back into top league, but it has entered to mid-season break with 8 behind leaders and still at play-off round last spot which would be seen as not high outcome. Without doubt Bursaspor does need to improve its performance right now for 2nd half if it wants at top league.

Bursaspor hence didnt provide good performance in 2019 but it can turn around things in 2020, common factor for teams in the article.
