Galatasaray has got an easy game prior to Benfica 2nd leg at Europa League.
Galatasaray has managed to get an important win against Kasimpasa with 4:1 scoreline during Super League 22nd week thanks to the hat-trick from Sofiane Feghouli who has shown his best performance since joining team.
It needs to be noted however that one of the main reasons for such a confident win has been factor that Kasimpasa, which was praised during 1st half of the season, has provided very poor performance during this game as it in previous 5 games also. With losing players such as Mbaye Diagne and Eduok, only goal-scoring player left has been Trezeguet who naturally has trouble to take whole team in his shoulder, even through he did score only single goal for Kasimpasa. To some extend, Galatasaray did get a perfect opponent when taking account that it has played difficult game against Benfica and would meet with that side once again on 21st February at 2nd round of Europa League. It has got everything from that game which it would need such as confident scoreline which would affect their motivation for 2nd leg game and also an easy game which would affect positively into energy. However, at same time it could be argued that this game has not been good test for Galatasaray prior to Benfica game as it would be much harder game for sure.
Coming back to the league, this win has kept Galatasaray at the title race and regardless how Benfica game would end it would stay among teams to win title at the end of the season with such focus and concentration.
Trabzonspor is having drop of its high performance in this weeks.
Trabzonspor, which as regular visitors of this blog would know has been highly praised during this season, but it needs to be noted that team is showing drop of its good performance as it has lost to Alanyaspor with 2:0 scoreline.
Trabzonspor which during mid-season break has been seen as among title contenders are now just outside of Europa League spot and does have drop of performance as it couldnt beat Alanyaspor. But it needs to be noted that it did have a great chance to turn around game at its own advantage as Hugo Rodallega has recieved penalty kick but decided to go through risky Panelka kick which has hit to the cross. Taking account that Rodallega doesnt manage to score high amount of penalties in his career, this decision is being seen as surprised and hence didnt get praised at such critical condition of the game. That moment of the game has become certainly turning point as Alanyaspor has shown much more attacking game and let for Papisse Cisse to score 2 goals and almost scoring 3rd one. Trabzonspor had lacked lots of creativity during game and also had poor attacking performance and it needs to figure out this mistakes.
It is true that Trabzonspor has some internal problems as side but their did good win during this season even through it had those problems and hence need to get that winning results once again so it wont end season at dissapointing place.
Garry Medel would stay at Besiktas until end of the season.
It became clear that Besiktas player Gary Medel, who was seen that he would be leaving club until end of the month to leagues where mid-season transfer window is still open, is likely to stay at club until end of the season.
Rather than factor of player, to regaining his place and change of mind of technical staff, this is mainly been due factor for that window to be close to end and also lack of player luckily to go to China or Arabic nations. Gary Medel is still high quality player and hence Besiktas could use him until end of the season as club does at least an aim to end season at 2nd place and even fight for league title. This decision might not too much help for player or team if he wont be able to play, but in same time tactically its good one as it could open an opportunity to be transfer to good club with good value given to him which would be good news both to Medel and also Besiktas for sure. Even through their is still long time until summer transfer window, it does look like one of the talking points would be future of Gary Medel in those days.
Gary Medel has been among players unhappy for not recieving salaries from his team but as been noted to consider best options he would be waiting until summer period.
