Galatasaray has shown highly organised game against Trabzonspor which led for good win.
Highly anticipated Super League 21st week between Galatasaray and Trabzonspor has been ended with pretty calm and comfortable performance from Istanbul side as it has won with 3:1 scoreline with Younes Belhanda has scored 2 goals.
It needs to be noted that Galatasaray has shown full concentration towards Trabzonspor game with also being related without doubt with a loss of 2 points for Basaksehirspor in this week against Erzurumspor. It needs to be stated that Younes Belhanda has also shown great performance during today's game with among finding 2 goals has also been active at finding dangerous chances and being eager at creating chances himself. Meanwhile, it also needs to be admitted that Galatasaray defence also has been pretty successful as it has prevented Trabzonspor to create many chances and push them forward and hence didnt provide much scare even through occassionally Trabzonspor did create some chances. It needs to be admitted that even through Galatasaray didnt come out with any Turkish players, its players has shown good performance and has shown that club would be providing an aim to fighting at league title and hence has shown to Basaksehirspor that it didnt give up its aim for title. It was also important for Mbiaye Diagne to score his 1st goal from penalty kick at his new club but he still didnt show top level performance expected from him.
Trabzonspor on other hand even through did provide some good performance and did provide signs that it still can end this season at Europa League spots, it is still not at same level as Galatasaray and needs to provide some improvements. Stating that it needs to be noted that Trabzonspor did have lack of some players due of injuries and due of players at young age and experience at playing such an important game did affect to team performance. Still, among Trabzonpor player Hugo Rodallega among finding a goal has been most active at the field always looking for chances and does look to be taking at the leading role of his position. Despite of loss and not being at same level, Trabzonspor did provide some confidence and can still most of the games without doubt for rest of the season but would have issues with teams who are fighting at the top of the league.
Galatasaray has got an important win and gained an important motivation for Europa League 2nd round game against Benfica on 14th February but this focus to the game could lead for a team to provide high level performance on the day.
Burak Yilmaz has shown great return to Besiktas.
Besiktas player Burak Yilmaz without dount has become star of the Super League 21st week game against Bursaspor as he has scored two great goals and has shown in overall great performance during game.
Even through Bursaspor is not known well with very attacking game and wasnt expected to find many goals during this game, it tends to go through this poor aspect with good defensive game and therefore it was important for Besiktas to show strong creative game. This has been achieved by the team as Burak Yilmaz has found 2 goals which would been scored by an attackers last touches and smell for a goal and he once again has shown that he is great attacker and does seem to be solving this issue at the team for rest of the season. Stating about Bursaspor defence, it needs to be admitted that Besiktas did have some issue at showing an attacking game but didnt manage to convert them at high notice as game has been developed. Coming to defence side, it had pretty an easy game with also Lorius Karius as Bursaspor as been expected wasnt very creative but it did show some good moments in last minutes of the game and still didnt manage to find goal with good focus of defensive and Karius performance.
Besiktas has got right performance which it was lacking some parts during this season and are able to show performance to get back to title race as it would be aiming to carry on this performance against Yeni Malatyaspor next week.
Senol Gunes would stay at Besiktas until end of the season.
Their has been very active discussion at the Turkish sports media yesterday about Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes accepting an offer from TFF to take place of Turkish National Team role from next month when Euro 2020 qualifiers would be started.
However, prior and following Super League 21st week game against Bursaspor both Senol Gunes and club's CEO Fikret Orman declined this rumour stating that Gunes would stay at the club until end of the season. In fact, Fikret Orman and Gunes has stated that both are happy with each other and would be hoping that he would be staying at that position even more. Stating that as it is known there wasnt an extension of contract which ends at end of the season which has been stated wasnt extended due of fact that their CEO election taking place on May and Orman making clear that their is possibility for him losing that election and hence it might create some issues for new CEO. Interestingly their is no statement from TFF about this issue yet but for now it can be stated for sure Senol Gunes would be coach of Besiktas until of the season but their might be open door for Turkish National Team head coach position in summer.
For now, Senol Gunes is head coach of Besiktas and happy to be and without doubt his aim for this season is at least to end season at 2nd position and make strong team.
