What happened in Turkish football today? 17/10/2018

Galatasaray considers to extend contract of its potential star Ozan Kabak for 5 years.

Galatasaray is aiming to extend contract with its player Ozan Kabak, whose contract ends on 2020, for 5 more years with hoping to such talented player at its hand and not lose him to other clubs in upcoming transfer windows.

This willingness and early action could be understable as it became clear that Inter Milan are starting having interest towards player and started gathering information from him. Ozan Kabak among young Turkish football at the Super League is showing strong potential and could become future star both at Turkish National Team and also Galatasaray so it is reasonable for his club to see this potential which he can provide for future years with also taking account that with Fatih Terim being as head coach could provide great boost to his performance in upcoming years. It is expected that when Galatasaray would start transfer talks with player, he would be able to make an agreement and sign this contract as he is being happy at the team and reported to be strong Galatasaray supporter for long time also.

Galatasaray is aware that it needs to move faster until other clubs would be seriously considering to sign him and such an action would prevent using potential star of the club and country.

Besiktas considers to sell its player Domadoj Vida in January.

With early rumours coming up for mid-season transfer window, it is reported that Besiktas has once again considers to sell its player Domadoj Vida as it did during summer transfer window for the reasons of the FFP.

It has been reported earlier this week, that Al Ittihad who is coached by Slaven Bilic is interested to transfer him among Gokhan Tore. Even through Domadoj Vida is showing great performance at the Besiktas this season and plays important role at the back with being also one of the stars of World Cup 2018, selling him would provide lots of relaxation regarding of FFP finances and possibly help to transfer/loan some names in winter in much relaxed manner including getting an attacker which are among one of the issues at the side right now. With Domadoj Vida also recieving strong interest from countries outside Turkey it can reasonably expect to make good cash, and hence and regardless how this blog doesnt like to see players as tool for finances at clubs, it is case right now and could provide lots of cash into the club.

Of course, it was rumoured a lot during summer transfer window for same reasons but player did stay at the club and as mid-season transfer window would start it would become clear about Vida future at club.

Footballing career of Arda is very uncertain.

Future of Basaksehirspor player Arda Turan, regardless of criminal case, is currently uncertain as their are possibility that club would only be patient of him until mid-season transfer and later would be aiming to sell him outside of country.

In fact, it is reported strongly that Barcelona also taking account of what is happening with Arda Turan, as he is loaned to Basaksehirspor, and are very unhappy with such his behaviour regarding of Turkish singer Berkay and hence there is even reports that their are expecting for contract to be terminated. In fact, if this accident did happen in Spain their would terminated with no issues. In fact, with case in Russia where Kokorin and Mamayev has beat up at cafe and streets has led for Zenit and Krasnodar to looking ways to terminate contract for him. Basaksehirspor interestingly doesnt consider to go such harsh decision but does thing to sell him possibly to China.

With all that said it does need to be remembered that Arda can even be arrested as their is request to lock him for 12.5 years with court regarding case would start in January.
