Fenerbahce has provided its best game in this season against Feyenoord so far.
Fenerbahce has provided its best season of this season so far by winning Dutch club Feyenoord with 1:0 scoreline at the Europa League 2nd week game and got a leadership at this very tough group.
In same time, Fenerbahce has become first team to beat Feyenoord as the team has provided an incredible start by winning 7 games back-to-back, including against Manchester United at the 1st half. It was quite natural to expect Feyenoord to be a favourite but in the game it look quite possibly. If someone who didnt know the recent forms of both teams, would think that Fenerbahce is in better condition. Fenerbahce has provided one of its best performance for the past years with players such as Jeremain Lens and Emmanuel Emenike becoming stars of the yesterday game and has gave their all. It does look like players start playing the way how Dick Advocaat wants them to perform. The team since playing Zorya didnt lose games, and has won 3 games at the league. It still had problems of converting chances but defensively it showed great performance.
Fenerbahce will have a very tough on 2nd October at the Super League 6th week game against fellow Europa League team Osmanlispor but it does come with high motivation for such a crucial game at the season.
Osmanlispor wasnt at its best day against Zurich.
Osmanlispor has become one of impressing teams at the Europa League as it didnt lose any games, including 6 at the qualifying stages, until it has met with Zurich where it had lost with 2:1 scoreline at the away game.
As Osmanlispor head coach Mustafa Resit Akcay has stated following the game, every team at the group stage has right to make bad performance and this bad performance has come yesterday. It needs to be stated that Osmanlispor still provided pretty focussed game but Zurich has played very good football tactically paying a big attention at the defence knowing that Osmanlispor can convert chances if their get one. Stating that Osmanlispor was lacking tempo which we were used to see from them from previous games but it needs to be mentioned Osmanlispor found a goal at 73 minute which made scoreline 1:1 which did provide hope for last 17 minutes but it did concede goal at 80th minute. Not very bad performance by Osmanlispor but their were not at their best.
With 3 points after 2 weeks, Osmanlispor still has good chance to get next stage even through it would play a hard game against Villareal later this month, one of the tough opponents at the group.
Konyaspor needs to play more risky football at the Europa League.
Unfortunately, Konyaspor performance at the Europa League after 2 weeks was among worst among all of the team as it is lacking needed speed and seems to show too much respect to its opponents.
It was lacking a good tempo which it had showed during last season and it is clear, at least at this stage, that it is very far from level the team at the end of the last season. Konyaspor head coach Aykut Kocaman from start of the tournament keep saying that this competition will be important for them solely for experience, showing that he doesnt believe much himself about success of his team which psychologically does provide negative matter prior to the start game. It needs to provide more risking football at the group stage if it wants at least to get few points, as this football could only lead them at best to get only draw at the latter stages of the tournament.
Konyaspor main problem is lack of belief, factor which it needs to take from Osmanlispor or otherwise it would just pay for experience for players and will not take any risks which is not good enough at this level.
