What happened in Turkish football today? 04.10.2016

Its too early to talk about Fatih Terim resignation from Turkish National Team.

Rather than focussing into the World Cup Qualifers games against Ukraine and Iceland on this week, Turkish media has been focussing into decision by the Turkish National Team head coach not bringing to the team number of key players, especially Arda Turan.

There is arleady been conversation about if should Fatih Terim resign from his posts if those decision would bring losses for those two games without waiting how games would be played. Its important here to remind that those same players were not called to team in game against Croatia which has ended as 1:1 draw at away. Therefore, it might be even better for national team that those players are not called, regardless how this unpopular this may sound, as their ego factor by those player would only do damage. There are good chances that Turkey would recieve good results against Ukraine and Iceland as it still has good squad of players who would like to and can perform in high level.

Therefore all this talks about Fatih Terim resigning or not should be awaited for those games to be played rather than everyone watching it in emotionally thinking of those players. Who knows, maybe Turkey would be include with those players in November games.

Referral of Ender Yurtguven is not right and no fine should be given by UEFA.

Osmanlispor general manader Ender Yurtguven has been referred to UEFA Disciplinary Committee for his comments following Europa League Group H 2nd week game against Zurich following his comments that he will not allow for bad name to be given to Turkey in Switzealand.

Following argument has been put towards number of Kurdish people who opened banners at the game with PKK slogans, Anti-Turkish statements aimed towards current government and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and also with pictures of PKK leader, currently arrested, Abdullah Ocalan. This decision by UEFA, where Yurtguven just gave comment about those people, is hard to understand as it didnt have any hatred and was stating what was obvious in this matter. It is very unlikely therefore that any ban would be given for this event but it does raise some questions of UEFA, in sense of double standarts.

In here, it was Turkey who is in target and it is wrong place to put such slogan and statements and therefore it was only there to provide some provacautive actions. UEFA needs to take that into account when making decision about this referral.

Trabzonspor does give an image that it will have another dissapointing season.

Trabzonspor has started one of its worst season in its history without being able to provide any eye-catching performance and does show that as a team it has many distances to be made to become team which would fight for league title in upcoming years, not to mention next season.

As been stated by this blog and Trabzonspor administrators this is being transition season for the upcoming league title season it aims at. Yes, administration did mention it will be not perfect season and their would be loss of points. But this performance is even worser than was expected by any supporters so far. It has only won 2 games this season and lost other 4, meaning it has only 6 points. This performance surely provides lots of worry to the supporters as it would be visible that Trabzonspor is once again close to get away from title race this season. Fenerbahce is also started bad but it does show potentiallity to improve meanwhile Trabzonspor doesnt seem to show that either.

This does look like another tough season for Trabzonspor and if it doesnt improve and find goals it would be another dissapointing season for them.
