What happened in Turkish football today? 20.10.2016

Fenerbahce carries on showing poor performance as season goes on.

Fenerbahce carries on providing very poor performance this season with showing any confidence and high-level football during Europa League Group A 3rd week game against Manchester United, where it has lost with 4:1 scoreline at Old Trafford.

The blame of this result could be thrown into plane incident which happened yesterday and also early two penalties which team recieved between 31st and 33rd minutes, but those would be only excuses. Fenerbahce has played a very slow football and even through it did look like their had control of the game prior to 1st goal, Manchester United themselves has played slowly and patient football. The problem is not for losing against Manchester United, but this performance is not providing good hope for the future both at the Europa League and Super League and it doesnt look like it would in near future as season carries on. Only positive thing of the game, ironically which was good for both sides, was for Robin van Persie to scoring goal which was treated in warm ways by Manchester United fans as he has played few years at the team prior moving to Istanbul club.

Manchester United has shown their superiority over Fenerbahce at this game and that taking account that their didnt play their best football definitely and even playing at 2nd gear has managed to get confident win.

Coming to group stage wise, Fenerbahce still has good chances to qualify with 4 points while being two points behind both Man United and Feyenoord. Taking account that it would play two games at home this is good advantage for them.

Osmanlispor almost got an historical win against Villareal but conceded 2 goals in 2nd half.

Osmanlispor didnt manage to carry on its 2:0 leadership at the Europa League Group L  game against favourites of the group Villareal as he had conceded 2 goals during 2nd half. Despite of that it needs to be stated that it still had provided top football.

Osmanlispor has started the game in very good manner at the 1st half with once again reminding viewers why it had presented a very good performance at the Europa League so far at this season. Rusescu did in fact provided incredible hope to the team while scoring goals back-to-back, however it couldnt provide same performance at the 2nd half as it had conceded 2 goals and also has recieved red card which spoilt whole system a a team.  Osmanlispor did provide great performance despite of the scoreline and carries on its chance to qualify to the next stage of the tournament as it carries on this year competition with 4 points with same points as Zurich and one point behind Villareal, who are currently leaders.

Villareal was surely didnt expect this performance by Osmanlispor at the 1st half but did respond in great manner at the 2nd half and has gained an important for them draw and reminding everyone why its favourtie at the group.

Osmanlispor did in one view lose one point but in other side it gained an important one against strong opponent and this point become key for it to get to the next stage of the Europa League at this season.

Konyaspor has got its first point at the Europa League in its history.

Konyaspor has obtained its first ever point at the Europa League with 1:1 draw against Portuguese side Braga even through it did end 1st half with 1:0 leadership with Milosevic scoring 1st goal of the team at the Europa League at the 9th minute.

Konyaspor did perform better during this game compare to previous games as it has shown much more attacking football and has created number of the chances against Braga. However, even with that it did still provide defensive football and possibly this factor has led them to draw game rather than winning game in more comfortable manner. As been stated, Milosevic goal at the 9th minute has had very signifacant manner as it has scored 1st goal at the Europa League and also still allowed chance for Konyaspor to get 2nd place at the group stage with Shakhtar Donetsk winning all the games but with this performance unfortunately Konyaspor does have low chance to get to the next stage of the tournament.

Braga didnt provide its best football at the game today which led them to end game at the draw and in addition playing in Turkey, where it always been hard for European teams has been also played a role for this game.

Konyaspor as been mentioned has still chance to get to the 2nd half but it needs to play much more aggressive football as been mentioned previous blogs and it would have tough times at the 4th week game against Braga against in Portugal.
