What happened in Turkish football today? 14.10.2016
Galatasaray would play a game against tough Genclerbirligi.
Galatasaray is going to restart its Super League following national team break with the 7th week game against Genclerbirligi which promises to be among most interesting games of the week as it would be game between two sides which didnt lose game so far at the season.
The main downside for the Galatasaray at the game against Genclerbirligi will be factor that its star player Wesley Snejder will not be able to play tomorrow. Galatasaray head coach Jan Olde Riekerink however did find very successful alternative for him at the game which would be Lukas Podolski who is capable to fill that space in a successful manner. Meanwhile, their opponents Genclerbirligi are having very good start of the season without losing a game after 6 weeks with providing strong atittute during the league and the factor that it is playing at the home could provide extra motivation. Most important aspect for the team is to not lay back which is character which been shown in most of the mediocre teams when playing against big 4. However, Genclerbirligi head coach Ibrahim Korkmaz has promised that his team will not do that tomorrow.
Galatasaray is awaiting a difficult game against tough opponent and hence it does need to control ball in very effective manner if it wants to leave with positive results at the end of the day.
Kayserispor is capable to bring surprise to Besiktas.
Besiktas game to some extend is not much easier compare to Galatasaray as it would also play against pretty tough opponent during Super League 7th week game. Kayserispor might not have as good start as Genclerbirligi, but their didnt lose a game against Fenerbahce and Galatasaray so far this season, drawing both games.
In fact, Galatasaray has so far drawn two games, against Besiktas and Kayserispor and hence the view that the game would be easy for Besiktas could be very mistreating as it seems to play against team which plays with extra motivation against big teams at this season. It will not have some clear players due of injury which includes Gokhan Inler and Oguzhan Ozyakup but this should not provide too much issue as its alternative squad is pretty strong enough and Besiktas players are going out with big mood. Only main issue which it could have at the game tomorrow is the factor of passing intensive defence by Kayserispor, which is among main reason for it getting draws against other big 4 teams. Besiktas does play fast ball and being more fresh from national team break would be expected to provide fast paced game.
Besiktas is coming out as strong favourite but Kayserispor did provide some surprises in this season and hence it would not be an easy game for them.
Yildirim Demiroren repeats the fact that TFF is behind Fatih Terim.
Turkish Football Federation CEO Yildirim Demiroren did state at the television interview yesterday that TFF is providing strong support to the Fatih Terim and has also criticised media view of the issue, stating it tries to create between them and national team head coach.
It was not huge surprise for Demioren stating that he provides support as it was known that TFF was supporting Fatih Terim at the post and it does look that their willing to end the contract with him which last until next season. He mentioned that it has personal choice to choose players which Terim wants and its not for them to interfere and only thing it can do is to support him and provide some monetary support. He stated that media currently tries to make conflict with TFF and Terim but it wont succeed as their determined to support coach during this period and believes it can get to the World Cup 2018 in Russia. This support is expected and needs to be shown but as stated earlier at the blog results need to come as soon as possible by national team.
Next to two games are against Kosova and Finland and the way team plays among results might make clear future of the Fatih Terim post as the head coach of the national team.
