What happened in Turkish football today? 02.08.2016
Fenerbahce believes that it can pass Monaco at the Champions League 3rd qualifying round.
Fenerbahce is coming with a small advantage to the Champions League 3rd qualifying round 2nd leg game against Monaco as it has won 1st leg game with 2:1 scoreline in Istanbul. Its just important that Falcao goal will not lead for Monaco to qualify with away goal rule after tomorrow.
Fenerbahce as a team are looking forward for this game as it provided some more intense training since 1st leg game and surely feel more ready for the 2nd leg and looking forward to this game. In fact, even if playing at home Monaco has also small advantage it will be not shocking if the team is the one who would be in worrying position prior to this game. With great performance during 1st leg by players who have returned from loan, namely Emanuel Emenike and Salih Ucan, this two players would provide bigger focus to the game and try its best to win the game without providing too much risk. Of course, with 1 goal leadership Fenerbahce can play too safe and aim for draw but as unwritten law of football goes when you aim to draw you tend to lose game.
Fenerbahce in motivational wise is even in better condition compare to 1st leg and hence it can achieve its task tomorrow and wait for draw of the Champions League play-off stage.
106 TFF members has been resigned due of FETO/PDY investigation.
The impact which attempted coup d'etat had into Turkish football and Turkish Football Federation has become even more clear as the federation has announced that in total of 106 staff members, including number of coaches, has lost any contact with association.
It was clear when back on Sunday TFF has stated that big clean-up will take place with high number of resignation that it would affect to the federation. Taking account that Turkish Football Federation CEO Yildirim Demiroren has stated that leagues will start at the time there is still big risk their wont and even if it does it would provide negative effect to the league as high staff members and its replacements might have trouble to make important decision in important time, issue which is important during league like Turkish one which is used with high numbers of scandals. This decision to resign members due of FETO/PDY investigation can have negative effect to the Turkish football.
It is important for TFF to go through this dangerous time in best way it can without giving too much damage to Turkish football.
Trabzonspor has made a deal with Lazio player Oganyi Onazi.
Trabzonspor has made an agreement with Lazio player Oganyi Onazi, as it was among players who team wanted to sign for number of weeks right now and had come into final agreement with a player.
Onazi can become player who would provide big impact to the team with his experience from Lazio and could become biggest transfer this summer by Trabzon side as it has trouble to make effective due of financial situation the team is. It is important to purchase players for next season and make it much more competitive side without spending too much cash. Onazi is a strong player and he could easily be a player who can provide this factor to the team despite of fact that it can look as a player with a big name but he had made some good marks in Italian side and is used to play competitive teams which could especially important in games against big Istanbul clubs.
If team manages to finalise the deal it would be good deal for a club in this summer and might aim for bigger aims at the season and slowly aim for its long-term league title aim.
