What happened in Turkish football today? 31.07.2016
TFF has gone at complete resignation of staff due of ongoing FETO investigation.
Turkish Football Federation has made an announcement stating that all of the members at the unions and organisation has been resigned due of ongoing investigation around Turkey regarding of the attempted coup d'etat and possible of TFF staff members, directly or indirectly, involvement at it.
The following decision has been made regarding of investigation of the members which are included at the Fethullah Gulen group which is believed to organized failed coup d'etat around Turkey on 15th July. This includes staff which are working at doping control, arbitration court, disciplinary committee and union of referees. This means that with season starting at the Turkey those sections will not have any workers and is questionably how Turkish Football Federation would do its task in upcoming days. The decision has been done due of point at the federation which states that those suspecious shall not be at the federation while investigation is going on. It doesnt mean that whole TFF was involved at FETO group and this could be seen as precaution but in same time does make TFF without any staff members.
It is important for now for TFF to solve this issue as Turkish Super League will start in 3 weeks time and after next week there is Super Cup final game between Besiktas and Galatasaray.
Galatasaray has transferred Lucas Leiva for 3 years.
According to various sports media, Galatasaray has made an agreement to transfer Liverpool player Lucas Leiva for 3 years despite of the official statement. However, it was known that negotiations are coming to an end and if there is no agreement its very close to be done between parties.
According to media, Galatasaray has agreed for 3 years deal with Lucas Leiva with yearly salary of 2.7 million euro which surely would also make Leiva satisfied. Lucas Leiva is in quality which would make team to be much stronger and solve many issues which was visible at the last season and surely could become one of the key transfers of this summer which been relatively quiet this summer. The fact that Leiva was aiming to leave Liverpool also made following transfer quite possibly and only downside could be not enough time for Leiva to get adapted to his new team.
Among being one of the key transfers for Galatasaray, this could be also one of the key transfers of whole summer transfer window I if Leiva provides his best performance next season.
Besiktas has no intentions to sell Oguzhan Ozyakup despite impressive transfer offers.
Interest towards Besiktas player Oguzhan Ozyakup carries on around Europe, with new reports that Valencia has offered 8 million euro for Besiktas star while Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho does research on him via West Ham United head coach Slaven Bilic.
Oguzhan Ozyakup is high quality and among best Turkish players at the league right now so it is quite naturally for such big interest towards him by European giants but it is known that Besiktas are not interested to sell him at least this summer. So it is quite natural for such impressive offers. Right now Besiktas does have problems at the attacking side so it also normal for reluctance for Besiktas to sell him and from how it looks Ozyakup himself doesnt want to leave which makes it easier club to keep him. Oguzhan Ozyakup would play an important role at the team for next season for sure.
The interest and attempts to transfer Ozyakup will probably take place until last day of transfer window but it would be hard to purchase him by anyone this summer.
