Galatasaray has started 2016-17 season at high note by winning Super Cup.
Galatasaray carries on its domination at the Turkish Super Cup by winning against Besiktas during 2016 edition after beating them at the penalties. Once again the main reason of Galatasaray victory was incredible goalkeeping skills of Fernando Muslera especially during penalty kick outs.
It needs to be noted that Galatasaray didnt provide its best football but when it comes to this kind of games it has once again showed its superiority by staying calm and when needed controlling the game. As been mentioned above, there is still some areas where team needs to improve however it has provided better performance compare to last season as it has shown will at winning the game and has provided better focus and motivation to the game. It is important to note for instance that Besiktas only had one dangerous attack which does show improvement at defence even through it wasnt perfect at its performance yet. Meanwhile, Tolga Cigerci who was only transferred last week has shown signs of being adapted to his new team in such a short time and providing hope for next season.
Galatasaray would now focus into start of the Super League as it would play against Karabukspor during 1st week of the league and try to solve some issues which were present at yesterday's game.
Besiktas needs to solve attacking issue as soon as possible.
Besiktas in other hand has provided pretty attacking football but did show lack of the attackers performance which does look like would create some issues at the upcoming season. It does however needs to be noted that Besiktas did start game with weaker squad compare to last season if it contained last year players.
Even through team as last season did provide some attacking football it did lack last touches which was present at the team by Mario Gomez and does provide lack of the attackers at the field. Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes has stated that even with this game team looks to be strong favourite for next season but it still has lots of areas to be improve at. Oguzhan Ozyakup and Cenk Tosun surely as the players will not be enough for Besiktas to fight for title next season with their performance at the front. Besiktas other areas meanwhile does show same quality however especially at the defence and it does look like it will not be easy to score against them in upcoming season. Loan transfer of Chelsea player Kenneth Omureo meanwhile could make this area even stronger.
Besiktas does need to solve its attacking issue while transfer window is open or it would have lots of issues especially during Champions League however it does have fixture advantage in Super League to start season at high note as it would play against newcomer Alanyaspor.
Hooliganism still exists in Turkey.
Another highlight of yesterday's Super Cup was hooliganism behaviour by the supporters,dominated mainly by the Galatasaray fans which included stoning Besiktas supporters bus, injuring Galatasaray fans and throwing flamers to the field by Galatasaray supporters.
There was strong belief that attempted coup d'etat and democratic air at the Turkish society lately could lead for solving issue of hooliganism but yesterday's game showed that there is group of people who still carry acting on this way. Of course, this behaviour could been provacative and it is known that 12 people are currently at the custody following yesterday's events. Unfortunately, hooliganism has been inside Turkish football for long time and has brought lots of big issues including bringing derby away games ban which been lifted this week. However, yesterday's action does raise if yesterday's behaviour was it premature action to lift that ban.
The role of Sports Ministry and security becomes very important role to prevent those actions in upcoming season or once again the name of the Turkish football would be seen bad and all this hooliganism talks will be at the top of the footballing media in upcoming season.

- Fenerbahce players Volkan Demirel and Mehmet Topal are trying to keep motivation high at the team.
- Galatasaray administrator Levent Nazifoglu: We would make some more transfers. We need attacking midfielder.Tolga Cigerci performance didnt surprise us. Blerim Dzemailli could be sold.
- Fenerbahce plans to offer 2-3 million euro + Miroslav Stoch for Basaksehirspor player Edin Visca.
- Head coach Umit Ozat: I didnt recieve any offer from Fenerbahce. I hear those rumours from media like everyone else.
I am not saying I am better than everyone else but I would like to coach Fenerbahce.
