What happened in Turkish football today? 22.05.2016
Despite of loss there are some positive points can be taken in game against England for Turkey.
Turkish National Team has started its 3-game friendly games period prior to Euro2016 against
England where it had provided a good performance despite of losing 2:1 and has shown some positive areas of the team with its performance. But most important thing that in history of Turkish National Team, Turkey has scored its first goal against England with the help of Hakan Calhanoglu on 13th minute of game.
The game in fact has started with controversy goal of Harry Kane scoring its 1st goal with the obvious offside but the referee has missed that position despite of fact that during whole game he was able to keep game in control. To some extend, the conceded goal went into advantage for Turkey as it started playing more brave football which has led for Turkey to find its first goal in its history against England. Even through it can be argued that England was not at its best squad, it still provided great game and provided difficult moments for Turkey especially during 2nd half. It is important therefore for Turkey to get positive aspects of the game despite of the loss which are its focus into winning spirit and its belief that it can get that win.
Turkish National Team has provided some positive aspects such as good reaction after conceding both at 3rd minute and 83rd minute when it almost had scored a goal at the end of the game, possibly bringing deja vu from Euro 2008 tournament. Turkish National Team does need to solve some issues but there can be fixed during 3 weeks. Right now Turkey will need to carry on good football in next friendly game against Montenegro on 29th May.
England meanwhile has provided great football despite of lacking some players but it did gave a vision that it will be better team once those player join the team. Today's game has shown that England could be a favourite despite of not playing best football tonight.
Fenerbahce needs to go to revision with its usual transfer politics.
Following decision by UEFA to provide limitations of its finances for next 2 years would lead to change of transfer politics run by Fenerbahce compare to last years and would also bring revision of salaries to the current squad.
Interestingly enough this Fenerbahce agreement with UEFA could be good thing for the team as it would be able to spend less time into well-known old players and go after low cash transfers and look for cheaper potential stars. Besiktas three years ago had done some economical reductions which led them to become Super League champions this season. Right now Fenerbahce will also need to make sure that gains are similar to loss of the teams which could come from selling number of players at the summer transfer window. Right now it does seem it needs to solve situation with existing players including selling expensive players and going through revision of the salaries of the players.
Among questions of this summer transfer window does seem to be how it will do it and it will get high focus into their transfer politics this summer. As long as it does this transfers smart and effective manner, it can become strong title contender next season once again.
Deportivo La Coruna interested to transfer Emre Colak.
Deportivo La Coruna are interested and close to sign Galatasaray player Emre Colak which means that if transfer happens he would be able to become 2nd Turkish player in La Liga next season among Barcelona player Arda Turan.
Emre Colak if in good form is capable of providing good performance at the La Liga and would also be good transfer move for him and his future career. Plus he would get some cash to Galatasaray, even through the team does consider to keep him or not at the team next season. According to rumours, Deportivo does seem to be serious for transferring him and hence Galatasaray does need to decide to keep him or not as soon as possible, because Emre Colak will not lose chance to move to one of the top leagues in the world.
Emre Colak didnt have good season and only start playing bit better towards end of the season, but as said he has great potential and can make great mark at Spanish side if all things go well for him.
