What happened in Turkish football today? 20.05.2016

Besiktas does need to get stronger next season for Champions League.

As the Super League 2015-16 season is over all of the focus is obviously is being at the Besiktas great performance of this season. As the case is the same  around the world, during 34 game period there were some mistakes made by the team, but in overall it had a great season.

The way it had started season has shown that it will be aiming for league title with getting confident wins and scoring high number of goals goals. Besiktas didnt see one or two goals enough for the game and even when it did win with 3:0 scoreline head coach Senol Gunes has stated that team needed to score more. It is true that Besiktas current squad is strong to win title as it did, but currently its not strong enough for Champions League. But as Mario Gomez has stated he can see from the administrators that it will do necessary things to achieve stronge side capable of getting some wins in Champions League. Besiktas has potential to become champions again next season but as usual other title contenders will do necessarily things to become stronger during summer. Besiktas should need to keep this in mind.

But to solve this Besiktas has around 3 months so in this long period it can rest a bit but start planning for next season.

Fenerbahce needs to focus into cheaper but more useful transfers.

One of the interesting factors of this season is that blame is usually being thrown towards head coaches at the Fenerbahce but according to rumours and developments at club players seems to recieve more blame after this season.

Players such as Luis Nani, Robin van Persie among main ones has provided performances below their level which affected to the team performance, which could be dominated by the ego. According to some rumours, Fenerbahce head coach Vitor Pereira will aim for making team stronger but will not focus into star players during transfer window. This reminds famous talk of Jose Mourinho at the Chelsea stating that expensive eggs might not always be better quality than cheaper ones. Fenerbahce decision to keep Vitor Pereira could be good one as he does some potential and constant change of head coaches as it been seen is not good solution to the problem.

Fenerbahce administrators and technical staff should stop focus into star players but rather see how to make on-target transfer to make strong league contenders. Besiktas is good example of this.

Galatasaray players needs to raise its motivation during summer.

Galatasaray has ended 2015-16 season at the 6th place and has provided one of the worst performances of this season and is currently running risk of not competing at UEFA competitions for two years.

Galatasaray has recieved one year ban from UEFA for not following FFP guidelines however if it doesnt get its position for that spot than next season club will not go through the ban. Ending Super League at the 6th place and one place below the spot, its only hope to get to the Europa League is at winning Turkish Cup final against Fenerbahce on 26th May. The team had very tough season and it will be season which team would like to forget but at least it has chance to complete the season at higher note. There are also rumours that players are happy with coaching of Jan Olde Rikerink and keeping him as head ocach of team which could be good decision for club as whole as he became used to the team and did team to improve towards end of the season.

Galatasaray does have good players but constant change of head coaches this season and economical condition of the team had affected how their played. Galatasaray does  need new players but more importantly it needs to raise motivation of existent squad during this summer break.
