What happened in Turkish football today? 04/05/2024

Samsunspor has wanted this game much more than Trabzonspor.

Samsunspor got suprising win at home ground against Trabzonspor with 3:1 scoreline as it provided strong and organised team while Trabzonspor who has slight advantage at 3rd spot did look to be relaxed.

It needs to be noted that this team has been important for both sides as Samsunspor has been playing for survival at the league while Trabzonspor did play to make its 3rd spot more stronger and it could be mentioned that team which did play for survival has been more concentrated and motivated. Trabzonspor does provide unstable performance during whole season and this has been case tonight as despite of having some control of the game, it didnt manage to get dominance and full control of the game which would been expected for them and couldnt both overpass opponent organise defence and by themselves didnt show good defence on the field.

Samsunspor meanwhile did get an important win for themselves as it did make their position to stay at the league more likely as it got 8 point advantage for now from relegation zon and this win would provide confidence for last 3 games.

Trabzonspor seems to be showing too much relaxation believing that it had secured 3rd spot but it need to get back into themselves as this relaxation could lead them to lose that spot which could also raise some protests from its supporters.

Besiktas has regained confidence as we are entering to last games of this season

Besiktas has regained confidence and morale as we are entering both to last 3 games of the Super League season and also prior to 2nd leg of semi-final of Turkish Cup which it would be playing on 7th May.

With vague possibility at ending season at 3rd spot or at worst at the 4th place and also with a priority of winning Turkish Cup to have some ogod ending of this poor season, Besiktas needed to show top level game and it needs to be mentioned that even through game did end at close scoreline of 3:2, Besiktas did deserve win as their showed confident performance at the attack and did show good reaction both when it got behind 1:0 as it equalised within 2 minutes but even more it did look for winning goal until end of the game as Worsall did score at last minute. Taking account that Rizespor also showed strong fight during game this could be seen as good outcome for Besiktas.

Hence, Besiktas did get very important win and did provide confidence boost as we are entering to last games of this season.

Galatasaray would play one of its hardest and crucial 90 minutes as end of season is getting close.

Galatasaray would be coming out for one of the toughest games at the last route at title race as it would be playing in form Sivasspor which did get some good scorelines during last 5 games which includes draw against Fenerbahce.

As we are entering to last 4 games of one of the most exciting title races in recent history, Galatasaray does have an advantage of 4 points but it would be playing against one of the crucial games as Sivasspor does provide some good performances in recent weeks and does find itself at low chances for getting European spots which would provide some confidence boost. Galatasaray however does have some advantages as it would be playing at home as it would be getting some crucial push from its supporters and also with getting some good and confident results in recent weeks thanks to Muslera and Icardi performances. Still, it needs to be mentioned that Galatasaray would need to provide some extra defensive game as it would be playing against Rey Minaj which is playing at great form at recent weeks.

Galatasaray would be coming out as favourite but Sivasspor would be expected to provide some serious issues in duration of 90 minutes for sure.
