What happened in Turkish football today? 02/05/2024

Besiktas might not be concentrated towards Rizespor game.

With getting 6 points behind Trabzonspor during race for 3rd spot with 4 weeks to go and also dropping to 5 points following loss to Fenerbahce, Besiktas would be meeting with Rizespor with an aim to win game.

Stating that, it needs to be mentioned that Besiktas is currently giving main focus towards Turkish Cup and seems to be losing concentration of the Super League and hence it would be difficult to call them specifically favourites for game as Rizespor which does aim to have good season and also playing against big 4 side which is being at good form might easily provide much more focus. Besiktas does seem to be having an issue with having strong concentration towards league even if with Serdar Topraktepe and hence team is not seen as clear favourite.

Besiktas does have lack of focussing towards league and Rizespor could easily this factor to its own advantage during this league game.

Arguments regarding an early TFF CEO election is carrying on being heated up.

An issue regarding petition of an early election is carrying on right now at the Turkish football community as TFF has made statement that it has recieved 109 signings for petitions with 15 out of them being illigitimate.

With number of clubs openly calling for an early election for TFF CEO election, TFF CEO Mehmet Buyukeksi is refusing for date to be changed as he did show similar actions on his questionable previous decisions which only raised tensions and this issue could continue to do currently. It is known that number of clubs are showing strong anger and request for election to be taking place before 18th July and without doubt this tension would continue to raise between bodies.

It doesnt look as been noted for tension to be reduced soon and our blog would carry on following all recent developments of this issue.

Besiktas has offered Deniz Ozek sports director position

Besiktas has provided an offer towards Bayer Leverkusen technical staff member Derin Ozek to be appointed as club's sports director as team expects to go through some big changes during this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen as it is known is having a historical season in Bundesliga and DFP Cup and now are focussed to win Europa League and this high level performance has been part of everyone which includes Derin Ozek. Hence, it is pretty expected to see for Besiktas which plans to make an important changes and make once again winning team towards him and negotiations between sides has begun with Ozek has given 2-days to make final decision.

Visit of Besiktas CEO Hasan Arat among talking with Ozet also includes negotiaitons with number of head coaches and we would follow all developments on this matter.
