What happened in Turkish football today? 26/05/2024

Galatasaray has become champions of 2023-24 season after beating Konyaspor.

Galatasaray has won Turkish Super League 2023-24 season after beating Konyaspor with 3:1 scoreline at away game as it has won 24th title with showing strong dominant game from start of the game without providing too much luck with draw result.

Galatasaray has shown its willingness to Konyaspor, Fenerbahce and everyone who is following Super League that it did come out to the game with an intention to become champions with a win and dominant game rather than playing for scoreline as draw has been enough for them. After few minutes of controlling game, it has attacked towards Konyaspor goal with getting chances back-to-back and did find a goal from Mauro Icardi. It needs to be added also that Konyaspor which did start with a focus to defence as it possibly aimed to get draw which would be enough for them to stay at the league and hence such defensive game has provided advantage to Galatasaray which it used to win title.

Konyaspor did come out to the game where as been noted draw would be enough for them and this has affected how side performed at the field and not thinking at all of attacking game led them not to get much chances. Thanks to Trabzonspor who has beat Ankaragucu, Konyaspor st ill has managed to stay at the league.

Galatasaray hence got Turkish Super League for 24th time as it has provided strong dominant game during whole season with record 102 points.

Fenerbahce has ended season with confident scoreline regardless what were happening in Konya.

Despite of not become champions at the end of the season, Fenerbahce has ended its season at style as it has beaten last-spot Istanbul with confident scoreline of 6:0 and has continued scoring goals even when it was clear that it lost title.

It needs to be mentioned that possibly due of win against Galatasaray on previous week, getting 96 points prior to game which has been 2nd most points ever to be gathered by any team in the league history has led for positive and good support from fans during this game which has been unusual in previous games as it was losing title. It was clear that Fenerbahce has been focussed to get result which it seeked for without focussing too much what is happening at Konyaspor and Fenerbahce which also led for such strong and confident performance. Fenerbahce could be dissapointed with some results in this season but it has ended season at style.

Istanbulspor which did come out as team which arleady has been relegated has affected to its performance and at such crucial game it should not be seen as surprising outcome.

Fenerbahce did come out with positive mood for the game and did get confident result and has ended with an impressive 99 points and 99 goals this season and would be remembered as most impressive runners-up in league history.

Trabzonspor has send Ankaragucu to lower league.

Trabzonspor has ended season with 4:2 scoreline against Ankaragucu and this taking place that it was formality game for them while Ankaragucu did come out for game to stay in but has been relegated with this outcome.

Trabzonspor it needs to be mentioned didnt show very good performance as Ankaragucu did look to be in better conditions as the side for 1st half and did go ahead but possibly with half-time talks, Abdullah Avci has pushed team to show much more aggresive game at the field which led for 4:2 scoreline with Enis Destan scoring hat-trick and to some extend pushing Ankaragucu to relegation.

Ankaragucu did provide some good performance until 2:2 as it did get ahead twice but didnt provide fighting performance which would be enough for them to win game and has broken after game went 2:2 and 3:2.

Trabzonspor did end season with 3rd spot at mixture of this season and without doubt Avci would now look into ways how to make this side more competitive for title in upcoming season.
